Anna Jones

I love how you capture movement and periods of transition. I think we often are consumed by the “big moment”, and lose sight on the time we spend the most in - transition. I think weddings are all about transition, a transition of life, a transition of moments, a transition between families, and I love how you are able to capture so much of that essence within your work!

Have you ever met somebody and felt like you’ve known them forever? That’s how it feels to work with Anna Jones. Not only does she have a remarkable eye, she has the ability to make her clients – even the clients who, like me, do not love to be in front of a camera – feel comfortable, confident, and beautiful. She was the first checked box on our wedding-planning list (her availability actually determined our wedding date because I had to have her as our photographer) and that’s one of the best decisions we made for our wedding day. The way she sees and the way she shoots – whimsical, documental, effortless – is a superpower. She captures the tiniest yet monumentally special split-second moments that you won’t even notice until you see the photo, and those will be the ones that will make you cry the happiest tears; those will be the photos that you go back and look at day after day, year after year. Anna takes every shoot seriously (but not too seriously), treats every client like a friend, embraces new ideas, and works admirably hard to make sure she doesn’t miss a thing. 

Anna has accomplished quite the feat; her talent is just as incredible as her personality and work ethic. I had admired her work for years and still have yet to see photos as brilliant and whimsical. We were not friends before she photographed us, but I immediately felt connected to her from our first phone call. She went on to photograph my engagement, wedding, boudoir, and family photos. Each one being a different, unique time in our lives and she made us feel so comfortable along the way. Giving us exactly what we wanted every time by creating natural and artistic photos that captured the story of the moment. She sees beauty everywhere. Her photos are works of art that could easily be on the wall at any famous art museum. And she is a joy to work with. Anna has always made me feel like I am her only client and I look forward to being one for life, as well as her friend. Thank you, Anna.

When I first saw Anna’s work I could actually feel it. It exudes a mood as much as it shows a moment. And that is something I hadn’t experienced before. After seeing her work, I knew I needed her as my photographer.  I needed that person who could (seemingly effortlessly) capture a candid moment, who understood the art of photograph and who could tell a story without saying a word. The added bonus of hiring Anna was getting to know her as a person as well. I am fairly introverted so having someone who could ease her way into my day without being intrusive, loud, or overbearing was critical. Anna is such a relaxed and adaptable artist; if you really boil it down, she is just one of the coolest women that I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. I can’t say enough of the good stuff, but know that Anna has it all.
