She has always loved stories. Her uncle used to light candles and bring them all next to the wood stove to tell ghost stories. She used to beg her parents to play storybooks on tape every night as a kid. She recently told a story on the Moth. She loves writing and painting a picture of words, but what she loves more is the complexity that comes with telling a story through images.
Ellen uses both analog and digital mediums. Capturing moments on film feels timeless in a way that can't be replicated digitally. That's why one will find a film camera in one hand and a digital one in the other.
Ellen is based in Vermont, tucked in the Green Mountains, living with her husband Will and their pup Roo. She has been fortunate enough to photograph weddings across the U.S. and abroad. Her passport is well worn and she is always excited to travel to capture celebrations. Her work has been featured in Harper's Bazaar, Martha Stewart Weddings, BRIDES, and the Huffington Post.
