Villa Balbiano is located on the western shore of Lake Como and is a true gem of the coast. It was built at the end of the 16th century for the famous Cardinal Tolomeo Gallio. A century later, the palazzo was expanded and decorated by Cardinal Angelo Maria Durini, making the villa the center of social life for the Italian nobility — with festivals, banquets and dances that never ended. Each following owner only added to the splendor of the villa.
Currently, Villa Balbiano is the largest private residence on the lake, covering more than 2 hectares, with an extensive exquisite garden, outdoor pool and private pier. The historic interiors are filled with the finest art and antique furniture purchased at Sotheby's and Christie's. Unique 17th-century frescoes by the brothers Recchi and Agostino Silva still adorn the walls that have not been touched by time.
Villa Balbiano offers 6 luxurious suites in the main palazzo, each individually designed by renowned interior designer Jacques Garcia. From breathtaking views of Lake Como to sumptuous interiors and marble bathrooms, unrivaled style and elegant luxury are everywhere.
You can take boat or seaplane trips, excursions on the lake, visit famous landmarks, and stroll through charming local towns and villages.
Ranked as one of the most prestigious locations on Lake Como by Harpers Bazaar and Vogue US, Villa Balbiano is the perfect choice for any occasion: from wedding to glamorous party, from private photo session to relaxed vacation.
