Describing Alex Vaidean and her passion is easy because it's clear that photography is definitely not a job for her, it's the air she breathes, it's what she was made for. As a bride, I searched for a documentary photographer that would go with the flow of the day and capture every moment naturally, no clichés, rather than change it for the photos. I wanted to remember how we felt in that day, what feelings and emotions went through our bodies, and when we saw her portfolio I knew I didn't even have to tell her these things because her work spoke for itself. We didn't have to search a lot because when she popped up in my instagram feed, we knew we wanted to work with her. 

That day was amazing and stress free because we were ourselves, we didn't have to pose in some specific way, she just encouraged us to show off our love and affection for each other and that was enough for her to do the magic. She felt like a friend, we were so comfortable in front of the camera.

It's our second event working with Alex, and it definitely won't be our last! We worked with her for our civil ceremony and now our wedding and her work is stunning – each shot beautifully captures the moment with creativity and emotion. Every picture feels like a still from a movie. Her documentary and raw approach is what attracted us to her, and she never disappoints. To be honest, our love story is not your run of the mill and after 18 years together, we wanted the wedding photos to be something straight out of a movie scene. Alex was truly God sent. Her work had something seductive, an unspoken energy, an ethereal vibe I wanted for our big day as well. I was in awe of the beautiful couples in her portfolio and got a bit worried we could not be as cooperative. We do not like being the center of attention, but Alex made it all feel natural. The wedding photos are to die for. All the details, the emotions, the magic of the moment were delivered beautifully. What I dreamt of, Alex captured. Artful, candid, playful.

Last April, 2023, we set the date for our wedding, and not even a day later, I saw an ad on Instagram with some beautiful wedding photos. I was fascinated. I then sent a message asking for details and expressing my desire to work together. The response came very quickly, and it was an instant click. We quickly met for a coffee and discussed the details without looking any further. I can't say I was the most relaxed bride, but I didn't have many stresses either. I never thought I was a photogenic woman, and among the few worries I had that day, I felt like the photos could become a burden. The only advice she gave me was to just be myself and not pay attention to her during the day. Said and done, the long-awaited day arrived. Right from the start, I felt like she was a close friend with us on our special day, not a stranger with whom we had only had two conversations. She intervened very little, capturing the day without guiding us, simply being a witness to our love. After 3-4 days, we received a small teaser. I was fascinated. I couldn't believe we were the people in her photos. I couldn't have chosen better, even with extensive research. We are deeply grateful for her, for doing a wonderful job and putting us at ease every step of the way. For the after-shoot, I wanted something more special. A challenge for both of us, you could say. My husband and I felt like we were in an advertisement for the most luxurious perfume. Since then, she has remained close to my heart, and I eagerly await our next shoot.
