Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck celebrated their wedding on Saturday, August 20 at their estate in Riceboro, Georgia. Jennifer had a clear vision for the wedding weekend, and to bring it to life, she turned to one of the best event managers in the US - Colin Cowie, who has worked with Meghan Markle, Jennifer Aniston, and Kim Kardashian in the past.
The wedding weekend began with a rehearsal dinner on Friday night. On Saturday morning, the long-awaited ceremony took place. The bride walked down the aisle in a classic high-necked column dress with a full flounced skirt from Ralph Lauren. The groom opted for a classic white Ralph Lauren Couture tuxedo jacket paired with black trousers and a black bow tie. All five of the couple's children also wore Ralph Lauren.
The ceremony was held under the snow-white frame of the church in the couple's back garden, which was erected specifically for the wedding celebration. Life coach and author Jay Shetty conducted the ceremony. He also officiated at the Lilly Collins and Charlie McDowell's wedding last year.
After the ceremony, the couple's family and friends, all dressed in white, gathered for cocktail hour at the mansion. They were then moved to the barn for dinner under the guidance of Chef Bruce Moffett. DJ Dubz was responsible for the music program.
During the evening, Jennifer changed her Ralph Lauren dresses twice. The first swap was with a dress sporting cascading strands of pearls and the other with a halter collar embellished with Swarovski crystals.
On Sunday, guests returned to the Affleck's estate to toast to the couple at brunch.
The couple's wedding marks the culmination of a love story that has spanned over 20 years. J Lo and Ben Affleck first met in 2001 while filming Gigli. They dated for about three years and were even engaged, but eventually broke off their engagement due to "excessive media attention." Jennifer married Marc Anthony and gave birth to twins, and Ben married Jennifer Garner, with whom he has three children.
In April 2021, news of the Bennifer reunion appeared in the media. And a year later, Jennifer confirmed that she was engaged to Ben for the second time, exhibiting a ring with a rare bright green princess-cut diamond. On July 16, the couple tied the knot at a small wedding chapel in Las Vegas. "Behind us, two men held hands and held each other. In front of us, a young couple who made the three-hour drive from Victorville on their daughter’s second birthday — all of us wanting the same thing — for the world to recognize us as partners and to declare our love to the world through the ancient and nearly universal symbol of marriage,” Jen wrote.
