Set against the storied grounds of the Acropolis of Rethymno, this design-forward editorial reframes the ancient fortress not as a relic of the past, but as a canvas for connection and romance. Inspired by the Fortezza Fortress’s three distinct historical phases, Gigi & Roses envisioned a series of immersive setups, each echoing a different chapter of the site’s layered legacy, while inviting a contemporary love story to unfold among the ruins.
At the heart of it all is a couple, whose quiet intimacy is framed by a beautiful honey-ochre limestone that pairs perfectly with orange tones of floral comopsitions. Light becomes its own language here. A sculptural LED ring encircles the couple in a modern halo, and a projected orange moon casts a tender glow—part celestial, part cinematic. These bespoke installations do more than illuminate the space, they hold the emotion in place, casting romance as something sacred and enduring.
In this quiet collision of past and present, history becomes the heartbeat of a love story—one where every shadow and every flicker of light speaks of beginnings, not endings.
