The Day We Met
At a Chinese New Year celebration party in Canberra back in 2012, we found ourselves brought together by fate and a mutual friend during our university days. I recall my first impression of Andy vividly, he was so bubbly and full of life. Our relationship blossomed, marked by a deep mutual respect and unwavering support for each other's passions. This foundation of respect and support has been the bedrock of our relationship, helping us navigate the challenges and celebrate the triumphs of our 12 year shared journey.
The Proposal
The pinnacle of our love story came on our 10th anniversary. Andy, ever the romantic, chose an intimate and picturesque venue on the Gold Coast to pop the question. He meticulously planned every detail, incorporating elements that I adore – from adorable bunnies to beautiful hydrangeas that adorned the venue. It was a scene straight out of a fairy tale, one that left me speechless and overwhelmed with joy.
The Venue
Being a content creator myself and a digital artist for Andy, we envisioned an engagement shoot that truly reflected our style and creativity. We longed for a venue that was both intimate and full of character, providing us with the perfect canvas to bring our vision to life. We found our dream location in an enchanting Airbnb in southeast Victoria.
The Details
Our engagement shoot was inspired by the concept of "modern romance," with black and gold as the hero elements, crafted beautifully in collaboration with our talented photographer, Emotions + Math.
To perfectly balance the soft and relaxed barn vibe, we decided to incorporate fruits and vegetables into our floral design. The fresh produce symbolized how love blossoms and flourishes in everyday moments. The use of black and gold not only aligned with the modern aesthetic but also added a touch of elegance to the overall look.
Our Style
We expanded our attire choices to create various vibes. I selected two gowns from Viktoria Chan, striking the perfect balance between modern and timeless. To add an edgy touch, the black Zara dress caught our eyes and became an instant favorite. For Andy's look, we opted for a relaxed yet effortlessly chic style, complemented by a stylish fedora hat.
