You've been photographing weddings for quite a while. What is it about them that really excites you, and how did you get started in this wonderful industry?
Weddings? They're like a symphony, starting soft and building up. I grew up on classical tunes, so I've got a soft spot for those little heartstring-tugging moments in between.
Tell us about your photography style. How would you describe it?
Think classics with a twist. I'm all about keeping that timeless vibe but weaving it with a pronounced editorial touch. It's an artful fusion that cherishes timeless aesthetics while infusing a contemporary vibrancy, breathing life into each frame.
New York is such an iconic backdrop for weddings! What do you love the most about being a wedding photographer in the Big Apple, and how has the city influenced your artistic vision and approach?
New York's energy is wild! It keeps me on my toes, solving problems left and right. My couples and I even join forces to wrangle tourists for the perfect shot, and it's a riot seeing their true NY spirit come out.
What is your favorite hidden gem location in NYC for shooting weddings and elopements? What makes it so special?
Beyond the city's fervor lies my guilty pleasure — the Hamptons. When I need a breather from the city chaos, the Hamptons are my go-to. It's a quick escape that sets the stage for some stunning wedding moments.
Every wedding is one of a kind, just like the couple getting married. How do you manage to capture the genuine and distinct essence of each wedding you photograph?
Every couple's got their own vibe — laughter, sly glances — they're all special. It's about anticipation, being patient and quick to catch those real, unique moments.
What is your favorite time of day to capture wedding photos, and why do you prefer that particular lighting or atmosphere?
I'm all about that magic light at 8 am or 5 pm in Spring-Summer-Fall. It's like nature's spotlight for capturing pure love.
How do you collaborate with other vendors to ensure a seamless wedding day experience for the couple?
Everyone's a rockstar on a wedding day! Especially hairstylists and makeup artists — they're the unsung heroes making sure everyone looks their best.
Can you describe your dream wedding scenario, from the location to the atmosphere you envision?
Lake Como and Spain? Pure magic. The art, the colors, the vibes — perfect backdrops for a dreamy wedding.
How do you stay inspired and creatively motivated in your wedding photography, especially when you've shot numerous weddings over the years?
Traveling, connecting with fellow photographers, and teaming up with vendors! They keep the creative juices flowing year-round.
What other types of photography projects or personal projects do you enjoy working on when you're not photographing weddings?
Shh, there are some exciting things in the works. Can't spill the beans just yet, but stay tuned for some cool surprises!
