“I have a natural appreciation for beautiful spaces, considered design and meaningful details, and my work balances an editorial eye with a documentary approach”
Anna has always been interested in creating worlds, in interpreting the unseen currents that shape our inner lives, and translating them into something visual and tangible.
Before turning her focus to weddings, she studied Fine Art, Painting and Printmaking at The Glasgow School of Art, creating dreamlike landscapes and imagined spaces shaped by nature, mythology, and the subconscious. Her fascination with Magical Realism and Surrealism, and with the shifting boundary between reality and the imaginary, continues to influence the way she sees and makes images today.
Based in Scotland and travelling worldwide, that visual language now finds another form in photography and Super 8 film. Anna is drawn to weddings with a strong sense of identity: beautiful spaces, expressive design, wild landscapes and thoughtful details that together create a world of their own. Places that feel transportive; moments that seem to exist somewhere between the real and the dreamt.
And while design and composition are an important part of her work, it is the people within these spaces that give them meaning. She is equally drawn to what unfolds naturally: relationships, energy, emotion and the moments of connection that bring a celebration to life.
Her approach is intuitive and empathetic, moving between visualisation and spontaneity, artful composition and observation. Her love of analogue processes brings texture, softness, movement and an element of unpredictability to the work — qualities that leave space for imperfection and allow an image to become something more than a literal representation of a moment.
The result is less about creating a perfect record of a wedding and more about creating an after-image of it: layered, atmospheric and emotionally true photographs and films that sit somewhere between memory and imagination, preserving not only what happened, but the particular world that existed for a moment around it.
