The company was founded in 2012 by Matthew immediately after kick-starting his career as a planner in Cyprus for 4 years. He returned to the UK with a mission to create a more personal and bespoke wedding service for his clients.
Around the same time, he met Bertie and together they worked to create Matthew Oliver Weddings as you know it; with Matthew focusing on creating incredible weddings and Bertie, structuring the backend of the company, as well as specialising in wedding logistics.
Over the years, the team has expanded to include an incredible team of people, from Admin assistants to Experienced Planners. Each of them with different strengths that they can lean on to utilise. They're a family and they all want to do their best to make their couple's weddings the very best they can be! They love what they do and it's that passion that drives them to grow and keep getting better.
From Oman to New York, they've worked internationally and met some of the best top suppliers in the industry. They work closely with these friends to ensure your wedding imbues luxury and the very best that country has to offer.
They're here to guide couples through every step of the planning journey, to make it as easy as if they were hosting their wedding in their home town. Couples are certainly in capable, experienced hands!

Coming from the corporate world, there's a temptation to treat your wedding like just another project, but this is impossible when it is a deeply personal, once in a lifetime event. And we were SO pleased to work with Matthew and Danny, who made the process a joy from day one.
From choosing a venue abroad, helping us with hotel selection, vendor vetting and selection, calls whenever we felt like it, to end-to-end coordination on the day of our wedding (supported by the incredible Jade!), they helped make the process as stress-free as possible. I remember sitting during MUAH on the morning of the wedding, with a view of our ceremony space being set up, and thinking "I never imagined not having to lift a finger", and our wedding day was absolutely the most fun we have had in our lives!

After Georgia scoured three different countries (for months), we then decided to have the wedding five minutes away from our home in Scotland- she didn't show one ounce of frustration. Admittedly, we were worried this was a bit less glamorous than the venues the MO team were used to but Georgia's priority is for her clients to have the wedding that is perfect for them.
Georgia was professional, kind and patient through the many, many renditions of our wedding. Not only did she save the day, in the end she planned something that felt so intimate, personal and perfect for us.
Georgia worked seamlessly with all of our vendors throughout the planning process, kept us on track with what we needed to be doing and was there to lend an ear if we ever felt overwhelmed.
On the weekend of the wedding Georgia and her team (Bertie and Danny) were everywhere at once, they ensured the whole weekend ran exactly to plan. They worked tirelessly, but with smiling faces, they didn't show it. They are all brilliant and there wasn't a single guest who didn't mention how fantastic they were.
The ability to plan an event down to such fine detail and yet maintain a sense of complete calm is a skill that should not be undervalued. The whole Matthew Oliver team are total professionals and we will be recommending them to all of our friends looking for planners in the future.
