SHAHIRA LASHEEN is a Cairo-based couture fashion house exploring the relationship between Egyptian heritage, contemporary identity, and the future of design. Founded by Egyptian fashion designer and Creative Director Shahira Lasheen, the House is rooted in an ongoing exploration of Egyptian identity, memory, craftsmanship and time. Her collections often begin with an emotion, personal memory, family history or a moment within Egyptian culture before developing into complete visual worlds.
For SHAHIRA LASHEEN, craftsmanship becomes the thread connecting different moments in time. Through the hands of Egyptian artisans, knowledge inherited from previous generations enters contemporary garments and is given the possibility of continuing into the future. Each collection is approached as a world in which fashion can interact with architecture, art, film, music, gastronomy and cultural storytelling.
Traditional techniques, cultural references, architecture, family histories and the visual language of Egypt are studied, deconstructed and reinterpreted through a contemporary perspective. The House approaches Egyptian heritage as something living — something that must continue to evolve. Traditional handwork is reconsidered through new proportions, unexpected placements, sculptural silhouettes and contemporary construction, allowing techniques with deep cultural roots to exist within a new design language.
