Leire and Domingo's wedding took place in the picturesque village of Vilamarxant, a stone's throw from the vibrant city of Valencia, Spain. The couple's celebration was a true embodiment of rustic charm, embracing the historic spirit of the venue with soulful, eclectic touches. The intimate ceremony weaved tradition with a bohemian essence, while the reception brought a bright, summery palette for a playful, nostalgic atmosphere. The bride chose a simple yet effortlessly elegant draped gown for the ceremony, before changing into a chic custom bubble skirt mini to dance the night away. This one has our hearts.
Our Love Story
The Day We Met
We met back in 2012 in a nightclub. Who said you can't find love there? We started a relationship that same year and left due to distance. We met again in 2016 and the rest is history.
The Proposal
One of our most special places in the world is Copenhagen. I lived there for a few years and on one of Domingo's visits, he claims that is when he realized that he was in love with me. We love the city, and every time we visit, we sit for a while by the lakes in Christiania. It was there, in June 2022, that Domingo proposed. A few months later, I also wanted to propose to Domingo so I commissioned a custom signet ring with the same stone I carry in mine and proposed on our special trip to London.
The Engagement Ring
The engagement ring is composed of a diamond cut in the shape of a heart on a thin white gold ring. It's what I had always wanted and hinted over the years!
Our Wedding
The Vision
Since we saw the wedding of Simon and Marco from Jacquemus, we fell completely in love with that charm and style. So we wanted to simulate it bit by creating a “village” style wedding, with the ceremony in front of the chapel and the party within an interior patio.
Our Team of Vendors
Domingo and I carefully chose each of our suppliers from the catering through to the decorations and flowers so that they perfectly fit the wedding we dreamed of.
The Location
We had the entire wedding in Mas dels Frares, in Villamarxant. We chose this venue because we could rent it for the entire weekend, exactly as we wanted. It wsa a beautiful blank canvas!
The Ceremony
The ceremony was beautiful. My cousin and brother officiated our marriage, and our friends and family spoke. We shared many moments of laughter, but also in a very emotional way. A lot of tears were shed!
The Reception
We wanted a completely colorful and fun wedding, so we designed the menus in varying vibrant colors (orange, bubblegum pink, lilac and lime) and paired them with the tones of the flowers along the tablescape. The venue itself had a lot of character and was very colorful with a buttery yellow façade, so we wanted everything to match perfectly with it.
Our Favorite Moment
The whole day was beautiful, but without a doubt one of the most epic moments of the wedding was when a few moments before the dinner began, the sky started to flash with thunder and we had to quickly decide to move the reception indoors. All the guests (following the caterers impeccable instructions) were 100% involved in helping, and we moved a dinner for 100 guests in less than half an hour! It was incredible to see people in their long dresses and suits, rushing carrying chairs and plates but always with a smile on their face and shouting “El amor todo lo puede (Love conquers all!)” Another of our favorite moments was the party. Since both the groom and many guests were DJs, we wanted to do something more intimate and so created a musical lineup featuring all of them. The highlight of the night was defintely the nightcore session by my brother that everyone danced like crazy to.
Our Style
The Bridal Looks
I wore a draped Pronovias dress for my ceremony look. It was important to me to find something simple and timeless but that at the same time reflected my personality. I combined it with a short plumeti veil for a fun, vintage touch. For the party, I changed into a short custom made dress I designed myself, with a corseted bodice and a puff mini skirt.
The Groom Looks
Domingo wore a custom midnight blue double-breasted suit from Sastrería Diplomática. For the party he swapped out the white shirt and tie for an open-button navy shirt for a more evening touch.
Our Advice
For The Planning Process
Take it easy and try to enjoy the process. We did everything by ourselves and on the wedding day it was super comforting to see how everything had turned out so beautifully, we were so proud of what we created.
For On The Day
Try to control your nerves and savor every moment because it goes by very quickly. A friend advised us to take "mental photographs" of the most special moments and it was good advice for us.
For Post-Wedding
The wave of love we felt and continue to feel after the wedding has been incredible. People always told us that your wedding is one of the happiest days of your life and it seemed like an exaggeration to us. In the end they were right, so enjoy the feeling.
