The rumor mill has been rife this week with talks of pop star Taylor Swift and NFL player Travis Kelce's secret engagement! While the couple are no strangers to engagement rumors, a source this week let slip that the A-list duo might be heading to the altar, with Kelce himself only adding fuel to the fire!
It all began when Taylor attended the October 7 Kansas City Chiefs match against the New Orleans Saints to watch Kelce's games in a fun Vivienne Westwood tartan mini and sparkling glitter makeup. ESPN reporter Troy Aikman sent Swifties into a tizzy by referring to the pop star as "the missus" live on air, and later doubling down on his podcast, Pardon My Take, claiming that a teammate of Kelce revealed the celebrity couple "might actually be engaged!" Sources close to the couple have since come forward to shut down the rumors, telling TMZ, “It’s not true, and the recent erratic and unfounded speculation about this couple just proves that the media and overzealous fans do not know what’s going on with them and shouldn’t make wild assumptions based on zero facts. Two days ago, everyone had decided they were broken up; now they’re allegedly secretly engaged? It’s whiplash-inducing.”
Kelce however also stoked the rumors, hinting in the latest episode of his podcast, New Heights, to his brother Jason Kelce that he had some big plans in the works but remained coy about what they might be. Either way, fans are buzzing about this blossoming love story and we can't wait for the wedding, whenever that may come!
