Inside the immersive evening that reimagined Provence for the world's finest wedding planners

The South of France has always been a go-to destination for weddings and honeymoons alike, but at Hôtel Crillon le Brave, the experience runs deeper than the incredible scenery. Perched atop a medieval hilltop village in the heart of Provence, the hotel becomes an escape where time slows, sunsets linger over the valley, and the vineyards and Mont Ventoux do the rest. To mark the hotel's reopening, an exlusive event—Le Rendez-vous—was created in collaboration with WEP by Stéphanie Fayolle. Gathering some of France's most celebrated wedding planners, the evening was equal parts inspiration and indulgence, allowing for an opportunity to explore one of Provence's dreamiest wedding venues.

Le Rendez-Vous

The evening began with the sound of tambourines and traditional Provençal dancers, welcoming guests and setting the scene for an evening filled with music, dancing, and celebration. From the first moment, the storytelling was clear: rooted in Provençal tradition, but made modern. What followed was a tour through the hotel itself: the rooms, the pools, the restaurant La Table du Ventoux, Le Spa des Écuries, and of course, the various terraces perfect for hosting. Each space made the case for why it belongs in a wedding story.

The Essence of Provence

From its limestone villages, summer heat, and herb-scented air, Provence has always had a way of making any wedding feel idyllic. For Stéphanie Fayolle, a wedding planner who has spent her career working within the region, this is both a philosophy and a birthright. "As a child of Provence, I have always been passionate about demonstrating that luxury, refinement, and couture-level experiences can naturally coexist with the authentic spirit of our region," she says. It is a balance Provence holds every where you look: old stone, white linens, wild landscapes, and exquisite detail—and that is exactly what Le Rendez-vous had to offer.

Rooted in The Region

Perhaps the most compelling detail of the night was the decor. Braided ropes of dried grass, mossy arrangements, and strings of olives dressed the tablescapes in an earthy palette that answered the hotel's historic brick façades and the mountains beyond. As the sun dropped, crochet and lace linens swayed in the gentle breeze and vintage films played against a draped backdrop as the whole scene tilted gently toward nostalgia.

The Taste of Provence

The evening began in the kitchen before it ever reached the table. Guests gathered at Maison Tilleul—a dedicated cooking space where Chef Thomas Lesage leads hands-on classes open to hotel guests and visitors alike. What followed moved to the hotel's terrace, where sharing plates were passed under open sky. By that point, the case for Provence as a wedding destination had been made without a single word: a sunset that needed no filter, food that tasted of the region, and a tablescape that held the old and the new in easy company. The region had done what it always does: made the experience feel immersive and unmatched.

"Throughout the day, guests were invited to embark on a journey through the five senses, discovering Provence from a completely new perspective," shares Stéphanie Fayolle. "I imagined this event around the world of Marcel Pagnol, drawing inspiration from his words and films while adding a modern dimension filled with music, style, and culinary creativity."

The Town as Your Venue

To get married at Hôtel Crillon le Brave is, in a very real sense, to marry in the village itself. With fewer than 500 residents and a single road running through its heart, Crillon-le-Brave is one of those places where the hotel and the town have become nearly inseparable. Here, a dozen 17th and 18th-century houses now form the hotel's footprint, each one purchased and restored by the property over time. The church of Saint-Romain sits directly across from the hotel's main entrance, and with the town's approval, it can be opened for wedding ceremonies. From the hotel to the town square and the church, the entire scene is your venue.

Beyond Le Rendez-Vous

Stéphanie Fayolle sees Le Rendez-Vous as just a beginning. "With my team, our intention was always to combine the timeless soul of Provence with contemporary culinary artistry and a modern musical atmosphere," she shares. "This event marks the beginning of a new adventure—one that we are now excited to develop for other venues wishing to open their doors to creativity, design, and immersive experiences."
