In Bangkok, Ammph & Pond transformed their venue into a deeply personal, visually striking world shaped by light, shadow, and intention — an atmosphere that felt unmistakably their own. Drawn to the freedom of a blank canvas, they built the space from the ground up, wrapping it in sweeping drapery that set the tone for a bold interplay of red, black, and white. Layers of fabric, texture, and precise lighting guided each moment, creating a rhythm that felt both intimate and cinematic. Florals by Jeniva Design, one of THE WED members, introduced softness and movement, offsetting the sculptural setting with organic detail. A multi-tier textural cake echoed the material language of the space, becoming both centerpiece and statement. From the confetti-filled entrance to the circular dinner setting that placed them quite literally at the center of their community, every element was considered, immersive, and emotionally charged.
Our Love Story
The Day We Met
Our story began on March 19, 2017. At the time, the groom was a freelance photographer hired by the bride’s friends for a pre-graduation shoot. The first time he saw her was the moment she stepped out of the car at the back of the university. It was a serendipitous encounter—he happened to be standing right there. Looking back, he describes it as love at first sight. He was immediately captivated by her charm, and he fell for her from that very moment.
The Proposal
The groom had always planned to propose during a trip to Italy. As a great lover of mountains, he chose the breathtaking peaks of the Dolomites as the backdrop. It was there, amidst the grandeur of nature, that he proposed to her.
The Engagement Ring
The groom chose Tiffany & Co. because of its delicate aesthetic and unique “open” design. “The way the ends don’t quite meet represents our philosophy on love,” they explain. “We love each other deeply without feeling the need to ‘own’ one another. We give each other space and distance, yet we remain side by side forever.” As for the wedding band, the bride selected a piece from her own family’s jewelry business, which specializes in diamonds and white gold. It’s a piece that carries deep sentimental value.
Our Wedding
The Vision
The core concept was simple: to be as authentic as possible. We wanted the day to reflect our true selves—natural, understated, yet deeply intentional. While the design was minimalist, we wanted our guests to have a heightened sensory experience, leaving with lasting memories and a true understanding of who we are as a couple. Given the groom’s background as a photographer, he focused heavily on the interplay of light and shadow, using leading lines to guide the eye through the space. We consciously avoided traditional hotels; instead, we chose Termsook Studio to build our dream from scratch, opting for a venue where we could control the atmosphere through “darkness and spotlights.”
By combining texture, color, and precise lighting, we created a sensory journey for our guests from the moment they arrived until the final dance. A unique aspect of our planning was the trust we placed in our vendors. We provided the concept and then stepped back, allowing each team of specialists to express their own creativity. We believe that when experts are given the freedom to take pride in their work, the results are extraordinary. The wedding palette was a striking combination of red, black, and white. We utilized layers of fabric, strategic lighting, and shadows to control the mood and energy of the celebration.
Our Team of Vendors
One of our favorite moments was seeing our team of vendors looking so proud and happy with the masterpiece they helped create. Looking back, we are deeply grateful for every decision we made—from choosing our team to trusting the experts.
The Ceremony
We chose Termsook Studio (Studio No. 4) because it offered a true blank canvas. The groom envisioned a space we could build entirely from the ground up, avoiding the high costs and logistical constraints of reshaping a traditional hotel ballroom. The engagement ceremony, held from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM in one half of the studio, embraced a minimalist aesthetic with soft bursts of floral color.
A heart-shaped structure owned by the groom was repainted and draped in fabric to echo the bride’s “bow”-themed dress and the groom’s ribbon-tie motif, creating a cohesive and personal visual language.
The Reception
As the day transitioned, we welcomed guests into the next chapter of the celebration with our favorite treats—Karun Thai Tea, Awerywong milk tea, and Tokyo sweets from a beloved local stall—while a DJ set the mood. The reception began with the grand entrance: as the bride walked in with her parents to meet the groom at the center of the studio, a shower of confetti fell, fulfilling a moment she had always dreamed of.
The seamless synchronization of fabric, light, and sound exceeded our expectations. The space itself was thoughtfully divided into three distinct zones. The Welcome Zone greeted guests with a curated selection of our favorite local eats to enjoy right after registration. The Backdrop & Main Catering Area became the heart of social interaction, where conversations and connections unfolded naturally. Finally, the Curtain Tent featured a circular arrangement of curved tables surrounding a central stage, ensuring we were quite literally enveloped by the people we love.
The Special Touches
The ceremony was kept simple, focusing on personal speeches. It was a raw, beautiful reflection on our growth and gratitude. The tables were adorned with organic climbing vines, and as a final intimate touch, our VIP guests received personalized Polaroid photos as keepsakes. A highlight was blowing glitter onto our cake—until the groom playfully blew a cloud of it directly onto my face! It was everywhere. In an instant, my lead makeup artist and the entire beauty team rushed in to fix it. It was a chaotic yet touching moment that perfectly captured the laughter and support that defined our day.
Our Style
The Bridal Looks
She wore three distinct looks: a layered engagement dress with bow accents; a sleek, impactful reception gown paired with Christian Louboutin heels; and a shimmering nude-pink corset dress for the after-party, finished with ALAÏA shoes.
The Groom Looks
His style evolved from a Western-inspired engagement look with YSL boots to a modern cropped tuxedo with silver floral embroidery for the reception. For the after-party, he wore a custom leather jacket from his own brand, paired with a white tank top and denim—a look that was 100% him.
Our Bridesmaids’ Looks
Bridesmaids wore soft green in layered styles, while the groomsmen were given a dress code but encouraged to express their individual styles.
Our Advice
For the Planning Process
The foundation of a beautiful wedding is a unified vision. Both the bride and groom must be on the same page. Start communicating details to your vendors as early as possible, but the real secret lies in trusting your team. When you respect their expertise and give them creative freedom, the result is a seamless celebration that exceeds expectations.
For On The Day
Coming from a production background, it’s easy to stress over logistics like food service timing. But we realized that those small things don’t matter to the guests. What moved us most was seeing everyone truly tune in and connect with our story.
For Post-Wedding
The moment the celebration ended, we were overwhelmed by a sense of pure relief and immense happiness. It truly is our most cherished memory. What touched our hearts the most was the feedback—hearing our guests say they felt our true essence in every detail was incredibly rewarding. Even those who couldn’t attend reached out to admire the atmosphere through photos; it was more than we ever could have hoped for.
Most importantly, this entire journey has been the ultimate confirmation that we chose the right life partner. Planning and executing this dream together has made it clearer than ever that we are ready for a lifetime of shared memories. Lastly, we are truly honored to know that our wedding may become a source of inspiration for other couples looking to create a day that is uniquely their own.
