Sonja and Max's wedding was a fresh, bright, and cinematic affair, drawing inspiration from Fleur Delacour and William Weasley's wedding and the artistic aesthetics of Wes Anderson movies. According to the bride, "We aimed for a vibrant and colorful wedding to capture the sheer joy of our celebration, while also paying homage to the timeless elegance of New England and the Ocean House venue. The Ocean House exudes a whimsical charm with its stunning yellow facade and the Bemelmans exhibit, and we wanted to embrace that playful spirit throughout our special day. We incorporated personal touches into the design, such as the yellow Ranunculus featured on Max's boutonniere as a tribute to our beloved dog, Buttercup. Additionally, the coral charm peonies were a nod to my great grandfather, Martin Eliason, who was instrumental in developing a similar variety known as the Le Charm Peony. We also adorned the tent with personalized, vibrant buntings."
The wedding was beautifully captured by photographer Austin Trenholm, a member of The Wed, who shared his experience: "From my perspective as the photographer, the most striking aspect was the immense love between the two families. From the parents to the siblings and extended family, everyone seemed genuinely overwhelmed with joy to be present for this union. It was a pleasure to document a celebration where every expression conveyed genuine love and admiration."
