An ode to individuality, craftsmanship and transformation

Few names in fashion are as instantly recognizable as Vivienne Westwood. A rebel at heart and a master of fearless self-expression, Vivienne Westwood left behind a legacy that continues to influence generations of designers and fashion lovers. With every new chapter, the house finds more ways to honor Westwood's unique vision while bringing something fresh to the conversation, and its bridal releases are always among the most anticipated. A longtime favorite of fashion-forward brides, Vivienne Westwood has finally unveiled its 2027 Bridal collections, introducing new pieces across its Made-to-Order and Couture offerings.

Photographed at the historic Syon House, the latest designs find a fitting backdrop in its grand interiors and picturesque gardens. Yet there's more to this season than beautiful gowns in a beautiful setting. Through exceptional craftsmanship, inventive silhouettes and intricate detailing, the 2027 collections explore how a wedding dress can reflect a bride's individuality, tell her story and even take on new meaning as the years go by.

The 2027 Made-to-Order Bridal collection takes this idea further, exploring the relationship between fashion, memory and identity, and the role a wedding dress can play in a woman's life long after the celebration. This season, the Vivienne Westwood team takes a fresh look at the house's signature design codes, experimenting with corsetry, draping and proportions. Never afraid to challenge convention, the house brings heritage and modernity together in unmistakably Westwood fashion. Here, playful minis meet figure-hugging mermaid gowns and extravagant, full-skirted silhouettes.

The fabric selection is equally interesting, with new additions including Rose Lattice Lace, Alençon Lace and Scattered Roses Cordonnet Lace. Among the highlights is Ambrosia Blooms, a custom-printed tulle inspired by Baroque still-life paintings, featuring painterly flowers, fruits and insects that symbolize the cycles of life and enduring beauty.

While Made-to-Order explores how a wedding dress can take on new meaning over time, the 2027 Couture Bridal collection brings transformation into the wedding day itself. Inspired by the concept of metamorphosis, its eleven looks take cues from the butterfly's evolution, following a bride's journey from ceremony to celebration. Clever bustle systems, detachable trains and interchangeable elements allow a single gown to be styled in different ways, giving brides the freedom to reinvent their look without changing dresses entirely.

The collection's creative daring comes through in Aurelia, a playful nod to Marie Antoinette's extravagant wardrobe. The structured mini dress features pink laser-cut floral embroidery over gold tulle panniers and a silk organza underdress, finished with silver and blush-toned flowers and butterflies. Its removable layers reveal the intricate construction beneath. Papillon Fleur, meanwhile, reimagines the Victoria Corset Dress from Andreas Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood's Autumn/Winter 2026/27 collection. Covered in three-dimensional floral embroidery, the gown makes a statement with its oversized corset, sculptural shoulders and dramatic tulle and lace veil, while detachable elements offer different styling possibilities.
