Marc and Fernando’s Madrid wedding was nothing short of a masterpiece – unique and surprising, yet brimming with elegance. From the moment guests stepped into the venue, they were greeted by an atmosphere that combined the sophistication of an art gallery with the warmth of a deeply personal celebration. Curves became the central motif, weaving through every element of the design, adding a sense of fluidity and effortless grace to the occasion. At the heart of the ceremony stood two breathtaking white structures, their soft, curving forms creating an ethereal altar. It was light and airy, with natural white blooms cascading delicately across the scene – a nod to nature's purity. Every detail was full of refined opulence, as gold accents delicately highlighted the space, elevating the decor to a level of understated luxury. Marc and Fernando in their matching Emporio Armani suits, exuded true chic elegance.
Our Love Story
The Day We Met
We've always heard about "Everything happens for a reason"; "There's always a plan" or "Fate will always find a way". And it's true. Even when someone tries to steal your table from the bar, you are about to sit down. So stay tuned, because maybe that person will be yours. That's what happened one day in 2019, in Madrid's Plaza de San Ildefonso. The place was full of people, so everybody was crazy to find somewhere to sit. Fernando and five of his friends tried to sneak one of the terrace tables from a group who was waiting first (me), so after "kicking them out," we looked at each other at first sight. A few days later, one of our friends, who was in the square that day, went to a friend's party. She met Fernando there again because they had friends in common. And the most magical thing happened: when they started to talk about us, Fernando said that we would be getting married someday. And look where we are 5 years later.
The Proposal
The idea of getting married has always been one of my dreams since I was a child. I've always dreamed of having a big wedding in an open place with the best vibes and next to all our loved ones. After all these years of getting along so well and being always so joyful about the marriage, one day we decided that we felt ready to make it. But never in our minds could we have imagined this—what a dream come true!
Our Wedding
The Vision
We entrusted Paloma with the design of our wedding, with one key request in mind: we wanted it to truly reflect our personality and aesthetic taste. We didn’t want anything that had been done before; we wanted something unique and surprising while still remaining elegant and not overly elaborate. We are passionate about interior design, which is something that’s reflected in every aspect of our lives. Our home was even featured in AD magazine, which speaks to our dedication to design and aesthetics.
For the wedding, curves became the central element of the design, adding fluidity and sophistication. Gold accents, along with carefully selected elements that evoked the ambiance of an art gallery, transformed the event into a true visual experience. Every detail was thoughtfully designed to impress while maintaining a harmonious atmosphere, enveloping our guests in an elegant and distinctive setting.
The Ceremony
We designed two wrap-around structures with curved shapes that acted as an altar, framing the couple in an elegant crescent design. Viewed from above, these structures replicated the layout of the tables, creating a perfect visual harmony throughout the space. Hydrangeas added life and a touch of romance to the composition, enhancing every detail. The guests were arranged in a wrap-around arrangement with sufficient distance between them, giving them a 360-degree perspective and creating a very theatrical atmosphere. Each structure had two strategically placed entrances, facilitating the movement of the officiant and the couple, and ensuring a smooth flow during the ceremony.
The Reception
The centerpiece of the cocktail hour was a sleek-mirrored seating plan, complemented by stone accents that added a touch of sophistication. Next to it, a mirrored bar stood out with a neon lamp, giving it a modern and dynamic vibe, seamlessly blending contemporary elements with elegance in the space. The centerpiece of the dinner was a stunning 9-meter-diameter chandelier, which, along with the gold-leaf orchids and the exquisite table decor, made the entire space truly unique. The couple's chairs were two pieces of golden mirrored art, adding an elegant and distinctive touch to the setting.
The Special Touches
The little kittens, Asian lucky cats statues, were a gift from us to our guests. We have one at home that holds great significance for us, and we wanted to share something very personal and meaningful with our guests. Similarly, we gifted unique ceramic heart-shaped pieces to some very special guests. The heart-shaped cake was also a lot of fun and added a charming touch to the event.
Our Favorite Moment
We can't move on with our lives because we are stuck in every moment of the wedding. Every part was so special, and we are so grateful we could enjoy every moment being very present in each of them, cheering, singing, crying, and feeling very connected with our people. But if we had to choose one specific moment, it would be the ceremony. It was magic, especially when we sent a special kiss to all our beloved ones who are always with us, although they are not physically present. When we read our vows to each other, it was a very emotional moment for us, too. And of course, we especially remember when in one of the rooms next to the dance hall we were with some of our best friends singing and dancing having our best time while our photographers took the most crazy photoshoot ever!
Our Advice
For The Planning Process
We think having your priorities clear and looking for what you want is essential. All the good decisions you make will have the best result on the wedding day, so find the best professionals to make your ideas come true. For example, we knew from the first moment we wanted a white and light style with natural flowers, so we looked for the best team to make it. And that's where the key is: people. We are so glad about our planning team, led by Paloma Cruz. We had so many good vibes from the first moment, so we trusted her unconditionally, and that's how we enjoyed from the planning process til the last moment. Thanks, Paloma, we will be forever grateful to have met you and how you handled all the hard-work you’ve made.
For On The Day
If decisions are well taken, everything will go perfectly. Just follow the vibes you have with the team and let the feelings flow. We feel so relaxed, and we enjoy all the emotions as if we were on a rollercoaster.
For Post-Wedding
Getting to know the feedback from our people has been amazing, how they felt and what they thought about every detail we prepared for a long time is so lovely. We are so excited about getting in touch with them to revive again our favorite moments together! And that’s for choosing the best, you won't ever regret it. Thanks to all who made our dream come true. Weeks after our wedding, we can truly say that it is very difficult that we could live again any other day as happy as we were on our wedding day. We will never forget it.
