With an academic background in literature and foreign languages, Xenia brings a studied understanding of narrative, language and cultural context to her editorial work at THE WED. Overseeing submissions, real weddings and editorials, she works closely with couples and creatives from around the world, drawing out the stories and perspectives behind the imagery and shaping them for THE WED’s global audience. Her fascination with weddings began early, after attending her parents’ wedding as a child and becoming enchanted by the world of beauty, celebration and romance that surrounded it.

Based in Osaka, Japan, Xenia spends her time outside THE WED studying Japanese and exploring Asian art and fashion. Her tastes take a decidedly darker turn after hours, with a soft spot for gothic novels, horror films and anything beautifully eerie. One day, she hopes to write a horror novel of her own. Until then, she’s happily immersed in other people’s stories.
