Weddings are undeniably magical. A moment many of us have been dreaming of since our early years, to finally walk down the aisle to our lover, our bestfriend, and into forever together. But behind all that fairytale allure, there's also months of planning, endless phone calls, meetings and heavy decisions. And the closer your big day is, the more anxious you grow about what's to come. A wedding is a huge milestone, so it's natural to feel nervous. However, if your emotions start to get the better of you, here are a few tips that might help calm your pre-wedding jitters.
Talk it Out
Never forget that your family, friends, and your partner are your biggest supporters! They will be there for you whenever you need advice, words of encouragement or just a listening ear. So, don’t be shy to open up about your feelings and concerns to someone you feel close to. Better yet, to your partner. For sure, they will understand you like nobody else can. You might not realize it, but chances are your partner feels the same way and is just as nervous about your wedding day as you. “Will everything go smoothly?” “Will our guests enjoy the celebration?” These intrusive thoughts and “what if-s” can be too much to deal with alone, but by having a heart-to-heart talk, you can ease each other’s worries and bond even closer.

Give Yourself Permission to Feel
It’s absolutely normal and natural to feel a kaleidoscope of different, sometimes contrasting emotions as your wedding day approaches. One minute you might be jumping with happy excitement, and the next, feeling the weight of stress and nerves. But don’t silence your emotions, instead, try to embrace them. After all, to feel means to live. If you enjoy writing, you can pour out your thoughts and emotions on paper or you can talk to yourself in the mirror, which is another great idea to calm your jitters a bit.

Treat Yourself
Shower yourself with love and care – it’s the sweetest medicine of all. For example, you can turn your bathroom into a spa center for a day or invite your besties to paint each other's nails while enjoying rom-coms. Take a nice long walk in the nearby park to clear your mind, dance your stress away on a dancing lesson or just focus on your hobby, be that reading or cooking. And don't forget about getting enough sleep. A well-rested bride is a truly happy one!

Practice Mindfulness
Why not give meditation a try? It's perhaps one of the best stress relievers and a nice way to focus on here and now. Dedicate a few minutes of your day practicing breathing exercises or listening to soothing music. Even 5 minutes a day can be enough to make you feel a bit better! If you're a total newbie to meditation, don't worry. There are a lot of great, user-friendly mobile apps that can help you get started. By making meditation and mindfulness a part of your routine, you'll feel more centered, focused, and empowered as your wedding day approaches.
Be Realistic
Of course, every bride and groom wants their wedding day to be absolutely perfect – the ultimate celebration of love! But let’s be real here: no wedding is perfect. No matter how much you try to foolproof everything down to the smallest detail, unpleasant surprises might still happen. Your friend might not show up due to unexpected personal reasons or the weather decides to behave. That's how life works. So, instead of chasing unreachable perfection, which can only add more stress and frustration to the experience, focus on the journey itself embracing its ups and down. Remember: it's the memories we make along the way that truly matter!
Focus on Love
Take a step back and remind yourself why you are getting married. It's all about love, isn't it? Reflect on the love you share with your partner, all the beautiful moments you've had so far and the amazing adventures waiting for you in the future, but now as husband and wife. The travels, the romantic dinners, family picnics and so...so much more. Your wedding day is simply another chapter in your love story – a beautiful, emotional, and yes, maybe a bit challenging one, but uniquely yours. So, take a deep breath, relax, and enjoy every precious moment!
