On November 22nd, New York-based chef, content creator and photographer Chloe Crane-Leroux celebrated her engagement to her longtime love Clément, a chapter years in the making. The two first crossed paths in elementary school in Montreal, living just a block apart and attending sister schools, but their worlds didn’t sync just yet. As Chloe puts it, “I was 12 going on 16, and he was 12 going on 6.” Their lives moved in parallel, shared neighborhoods, overlapping circles, but never fully crossing.
That changed in 2020. Chloe returned to Montreal during the pandemic for five weeks, downloaded a dating app “just for fun,” and saw a familiar face. “He thought it might be a catfish situation only because he knew I lived in New York—so on our first date, he wasn’t even sure I’d show up. (I did.)” The next five weeks unfolded side by side, and when she returned to NYC, she asked him to visit the following weekend. He did. Three months later, they moved in together. Their engagement arrived this past August on Lake Garda, Italy, during a golden-hour boat ride on a classic Riva - just the two of them on a quiet evening lake. “If I could dream up my ideal proposal, this would be it,” Chloe says.
To celebrate, the couple hosted an intimate evening at Le Chalet at L’Avenue at Saks Fifth Avenue in New York City, a setting that matched Chloe’s vision of chic and cozy with its early-winter chalet atmosphere and warm, elevated ambiance. The staff and events team helped bring every detail to life, creating a night that felt personal, polished, and full of heart. Thoughtful touches appeared throughout the celebration, including custom matchbooks displayed in a bowl for guests to take home - a nod to Chloe’s love of collecting them from New York bars and restaurants. Krug champagne and Avaline wine were served as guests mingled among flickering candlelight and Le Chalet’s alpine-inspired interiors.
Chloe wore the Emory silk satin gown by Rixo, a piece that felt “effortlessly elegant from the moment I put it on.” Jimmy Choo provided both accessories and heels, adding a sleek finish to the look, while Jennifer Behr earrings brought just the right amount of shimmer. The couple gave a speech together, thanking everyone who gathered—many traveling from Montreal—to celebrate with them. And when asked about her favorite moment of the night, Chloe didn’t hesitate: “Being surrounded by our best friends and family. Truly, there’s nothing better to us.”
