On June 20th of this year, New York fashion influencer, designer, and WeWoreWhat founder Danielle Bernstein shared her engagement photos – an announcement that set the internet abuzz with excitement. The entrepreneur, known for her iconic city-chic aesthetic and deep-rooted influence in the fashion world, revealed that she’s engaged to her partner Cooper Weisman, a real estate agent. The couple went public with their relationship in 2023 when Danielle opened up in a heartfelt Instagram post, and after two years together, Weisman proposed on a Manhattan rooftop with a breathtaking pear-shaped diamond ring. Fast forward to October 18, when the couple celebrated their engagement with an elegant, vintage-inspired soirée at The Manor New York – a venue that perfectly captured the essence of modern romance meets old-world charm.
Bernstein’s custom gown by Kim Kassas Couture was nothing short of a masterpiece: a vision of vintage French lace, tea-dyed by hand to evoke warmth and story, featuring a structured silk brocade corset reminiscent of eras past, and an asymmetrical modern balloon skirt that brought the look into the now. She completed her ensemble with Jimmy Choo heels and Lorraine Schwartz jewelry, striking the perfect balance between luxury and sentimentality.
The party itself felt like stepping into a fashion editorial brought to life. Guests were welcomed into a setting layered with nostalgia – draped backdrops, lavish grazing tables, vintage silverware, and muted floral arrangements intertwined with lush greenery. Custom stationery detailed every touchpoint, while the cocktail hour featured Negronis, black caviar, and the sounds of a live band that set a dynamic, joyful tone for the evening.
As the night unfolded, hidden doors opened to reveal a red-lit nightclub – a secret after-party pulsing with energy. "We danced all night," Danielle shared, describing the haze-filled room and the electric vibe driven by DJs and a live electric violin performance. For the after-party, Bernstein transitioned into yet another moment of couture magic – a Louis Féraud Spring/Summer 1994 lace-embellished two-piece runway look, hand-beaded by Kim Kassas Couture and finished with a peekaboo lace bra crafted from the same antique French lace used in her first gown. It was a seamless echo of her earlier look, carrying the narrative of timeless femininity into a more daring, after-dark form.
