On the first Monday in May, the Met Gala finally took place at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. The theme of the event was "Gilded Glamour", a reference to the early 20th-century era when fashion was guided by the golden rule "the more, the better". The buzz has still not yet subsided: countless guests applied the theme loosely, but still very uniquely. Below, we tell you all about the best looks and main trends of the red carpet which can inspire both newlyweds and wedding guests.
Who Said That White Dresses Are Boring?
At some point, the Met Gala seemed like a wedding boom: several stars showed up in white gowns (one of them was proposed even on the red carpet). Their outfits appeal both to those who appreciate simplicity as well as those who love statement fashion. The brides who like refined classics will appreciate Hailey Bieber's outfit by Saint Laurent, Emma Stone's Louis Vitton short dress (the star got married in it two years ago), and Alexa Chung's look designed by Christian Siriano. It's hard to relate these looks to the Met Gala theme but it turned out jaw-dropping, and that's impossible to deny it.

If you think wedding attire is first and foremost something luxurious and festive, take a look at the Michae Kors sequined gown in which Aisa Gonzalez appeared. This option would be perfect for a fall or winter wedding. Sydney Sweeney's outfit transformation is a great alternative for those who don't plan to splurge on several different dresses at once. And the supermodel Caroline Trentini's look, in our opinion, is beyond competition: an outfit from Danielle Frankel paired with black leather gloves is a perfect option for daring brides.

The Shinier the Better
Many took the theme too literally, so there was more than enough glitter at the event. Gold, embroidered fabrics, rhinestones and sequins made the evening especially spectacular. Kim Kardashian's dress, originally worn by the iconic Marilyn Monroe, was one of the most discussed in the media. But it was not the only one worthy of attention: there were a lot of looks that could be an inspiration for both the bride and those who are invited to the ceremony. Only you decide what option to choose - to wear a dazzling dress like Camille Mendes, to shine in a silver elegant outfit like Kaia Gerber, or just add a touch of sparkle as Khloe Kardashian did.

There Is Nothing to Be Embarrassed About
Transparent dresses became one of the main trends at the Met Gala. Celebrity stylists offered a few variations: see-through lace like Vanessa Hudgens appeared in, translucent chiffon like Nicola Peltz wore, or Daisy Edgar-Jones' sparkle semi-transparent mini dress.

Nothing, But Corsets
There were a lot of corsets this year, but unfortunately, not all of them looked spectacular. The most impressive variant was the Givenchy dress embroidered with stones, worn by the singer Rosalia. It is not difficult to find bridal gowns like this one: corset dresses are available in almost every wedding salon.

The Biggest Beauty Trends: Rhinestones, Waves, and Red Lips
The Met Gala's most popular hairstyles were light curls like Blake Lovely and Sophie Turner had (girls with long hair - take note), buns (our favorite one is Caroline Trentini's hairstyle), and wet hair and retro waves. The main trend for girls with short hair is the bob, like the hostess Anna Wintour).

Makeup trends have become less prominent compared to controversial outfits and no less varied, though. Pink mono makeup and no makeup trend may become the favorites of those who are in love with classics. Cheeky options fans will like rhinestone patterns and bright shadows. Brides should pay special attention to Miranda Kerr's look: her white bridal dress matches her red lips perfectly.

Men's Suits: From Classics to Colorful Ones
There is always a heated discussion about the Met Gala looks after the event itself. This year was no different. Men's suits, unfortunately, did not get much attention. And we think this is wrong. Yes, many celebrities appeared in black traditional suits, but there were some stylish looks in which both grooms and wedding guests can find inspiration. You can diversify the usual classics by adding eye-catching details, as actor Jacob Elordi did. He appeared in a black Burberry suit with glittering embroidery. You can also make your wedding more colorful with a suit in a rich hue, like Sebastian Stan. And those who are tired of black options but not yet ready for bright colors look at Brooklyn Beckham's milky oversize suit.
