Her bridal looks followed the same narrative: a sculptural couture gown with a hand-stitched veil bearing her family crest, later transformed into something lighter, before giving way to a playful, movement-driven after-party piece. Our Love Story
The Day We Met
We met in 2022 by chance on the 130th floor of the Burj Khalifa. I joined a friend for a work meeting, and Dennis was there—calm, observant, and quietly grounding. Small moments stood out immediately: opening every door, taking away my champagne when he noticed I didn’t want to drink, and making sure I got home first. He dropped me off at my place, and I “accidentally” left my jacket behind to guarantee a second date—and we started dating the very next day.
The Proposal
Three years, more than twenty countries, and countless shared memories later, Dennis decided it was time. In Bali, he staged an entire plan with my mom to distract me for a few hours. When my mom and I got back, he guided me toward the pool, where “Sandra, will you marry me?” floated in red petals as Bruno Mars’ Marry You played. Shock turned into laughter, then happy tears—and somewhere in between, I said yes.
The Engagement Ring
Dennis chose a Tiffany-inspired three-stone ring in white gold—a design traditionally symbolizing the past, present, and future. For me, it carries an even sweeter meaning: my dream of having three children. Knowing the ring was chosen with his mother and connected to his grandmother makes it feel deeply rooted in family, legacy, and intention—everything we value.

Ever since my teenage years, I knew I wanted a celebration that felt like one big family vacation. Aesthetically, I avoided anything trend-driven, choosing a timeless, old-money sensibility with subtle modern touches so the images would feel just as beautiful decades from now. Every element was curated like a film—from music and lighting to textures and personalization—creating a celebration that felt natural, refined, and deeply personal.
Our Team of Vendors
Choosing the venue was about more than the location—it was also about the creative team who could bring the mood boards to life. I immediately connected with the photographer and videographer’s artistic eye, and I stepped into the role of my own wedding planner and stylist to fully control the visual and emotional narrative. While working with local vendors, I also shipped key décor from my home country of Macedonia—including over 200 meters of textiles, custom embroidery, and hundreds of candles—ensuring every detail felt intentional and true to our vision.
The Location
With guests traveling from around the world, choosing the right location was essential. I knew I wouldn’t compromise on one thing: the venue had to be historical—a place with soul and natural timelessness.
The Ceremony
The ceremony was the most emotional and spiritual moment of the entire weekend. From the beginning, we envisioned it as a cinematic experience inspired by one of the most romantic wedding scenes in film history, Crazy Rich Asians, with hundreds of candles, soft smoke, and layered light creating an atmosphere that felt sacred and timeless. One of the most meaningful moments for me was walking down the aisle with both my mother and father. As the doors opened, a harpist played “I Can’t Help Falling in Love with You,” holding that quiet pause just before the entrance—a breath that made the moment feel profoundly powerful.
The Cocktail Hour
Following the ceremony, guests moved poolside for cocktail hour as we stepped away briefly for our first portraits together, with live jazz gently shifting the mood from emotional to celebratory. Culinary stations were set throughout the space, featuring fresh oysters, hand-carved serrano ham, and live sea-and-land plancha, creating an atmosphere that felt indulgent yet relaxed. During this time, we also fulfilled a lifelong dream of mine by inviting guests inside the estate in small groups for royal-style family portraits. Seeing the final images was surreal—timeless, regal, and truly worthy of hanging in a palace… now we just need to find one.
The Reception
The main wedding reception unfolded in the front garden of the estate, designed as the emotional and visual climax of the weekend. Two statement draping installations defined the space: an off-white draped structure framing the entrance and a sculptural olive-green velvet backdrop for portraits, echoed through embroidered napkins, a velvet-draped seating chart, and lace menus created as keepsakes rather than décor.
After dinner, heartfelt speeches filled the evening with laughter and tears—I cried through many of them—before the champagne tower and cake cutting ushered in a celebratory shift. The night continued with our first dance, followed by dances with my father and mother, unfolding into an atmosphere that felt elegant, emotional, and deeply connected.
The Special Touches
Personalization was the foundation of our wedding—not as ornament, but as narrative. The most meaningful expression was my ceremony gown, designed under Atelier Per Sempre and hand-stitched by my mother and grandmother, then finished with a four-meter veil bearing a custom family crest nearly one meter wide, created with symbols closely tied to our story, heritage, and future family. That same crest became a visual language throughout the weekend, appearing on draped textile panels that told our full love story and explained the meaning behind each element.
Our Favorite Moment
We planned the wedding so every moment felt intentional, emotional, and filled with joy, knowing it might be the only time all our loved ones from around the world would ever gather in one place. Looking back at the videos still feels unreal—that energy, freedom, and collective happiness is something I’ll carry forever.
Our Style
The Bridal Looks
My bridal wardrobe was conceived as a complete narrative, with each look marking a different moment of the wedding while remaining rooted in craftsmanship and legacy. All dresses were created at Atelier Per Sempre, designed by me and hand-stitched by my mother and grandmother, making them true heirlooms. For the ceremony, I wore a couture gown with a structured corset, sculpted volume through the hips, and a four-meter veil featuring a custom family crest embroidered on the train; for the reception, I simply removed the detachable train to create a lighter, more fluid version. The after-party look was all about movement—a crystal-latticed mini dress on nude tulle, finished with thousands of stitched stones and sweeping ivory ostrich feather panels.
The Groom Looks
Dennis’s wedding look was defined by timeless tailoring, personal history, and quiet symbolism. For the main day, he wore a double-breasted champagne suit with peak lapels, cut by his longtime personal tailor in Shanghai. Traveling there specifically for the fitting made the process deeply meaningful. Inside the suit and shirt, discreet personalized embroidery marked our initials, wedding date, and a private inscription, intended to be worn close to the heart rather than seen.
Our Advice
For the Planning Process
Don’t panic—truly. I planned our wedding remotely for almost two months after securing the location just eight months in advance, all while preparing a bridal fashion show shortly before the wedding. Clear mood boards were my anchor; once the vision was set, every decision became easier. I created individual plans for each vendor so everyone could work independently, and I wasn’t afraid to lean on family and friends—their support made everything possible.
For On The Day
The best advice I can give is to let go. Things will inevitably go off plan, but they only matter if you let them. Once I stopped focusing on perfection and fully immersed myself in the moment, everything felt exactly as it should. Décor fades, but the energy, emotions, and memories created with your loved ones stay forever.
For Post-Wedding
One thing I’m incredibly grateful for is writing everything down the moment we got home—the feelings, the small details, the emotions that lingered. Memories fade, and capturing them in words is one of the best ways to keep them alive. When it comes to photos and video, aligning with your creative team on mood boards and editing style early is essential to ensure the final result truly captures the raw and tender emotion of the weekend.
