Tae and Tam's union unfolded like a fairy tale, blending the rich traditions of a Thai-Chinese ceremony with the contemporary flair of the reception to create an enchanting and unforgettable celebration. Spilling with a sophisticated chicness, every detail was steeped in a certain modern and effortless elegance. From the minimalist decor, to the garden of exquisite designer bridal gowns and the tranquil venue, every element considered with grace and intention to create a captivating fusion of contrasting elements and unparalleled beauty.
Tell us a little about yourselves. How did you meet? What do you do for a living? What are your hobbies?
My name is Tae and my husband is Tam (our Thai nicknames). I'm the owner and designer of Everyday Apparels. My brand focuses on clean cuts and neat designs. My husband works in the civil service. Our first meeting was a bit cliché, we met at a casual dinner amongst our closest friends. That night, we shared a lot of the same opinions, so that's basically how our relationship started. After knowing each other for 4 years, we decided to get married!
Where was your wedding? Why did you choose this venue?
The ceremony took place in Nakhon Ratchasima (my husband's hometown) at the Kantary Hotel. We did it in the traditional Thai-Chinese way. All our close relatives, bridesmaids and groomsmen were there. It was a sit-down lunch, and most of our guests were friends of our parents. The reception venue was semi-open-air. We chose this venue because we loved the atmosphere, the lighting, the garden and the hall room. And it was more convenient and fun for the party as the guests were just our friends (about 300 guests).
What was the concept behind your wedding and how did you find your inspiration?
The concept was minimalist, with white and green decor and a bit of color, the theme was Bold & Colourful. Being a clothing designer myself, I love clean designs and bold colors, so everything was inspired by our tastes and preferences.
How long did it take to plan your wedding? Did you encounter any challenges during the planning process?
We had about 7 months for planning. Most of the obstacles were finding a venue, a make-up artist and a photographer. After Tam proposed, and we knew our official date, he's the one who pushed me to book all the important things. Once we organized the booking according to our checklists, everything was manageable. And by separating the wedding ceremony from the reception, as an Asian family, we were able to fulfil both our parents' and our own wishes. It was the perfect decision.
How many guests did you have? And what was the seating arrangement at the wedding like?
We had 300 guests at our reception. It was 'cocktails and champagne' and we wanted a space for people to party and have fun.
Tell us about your outfits. How many different styles have you tried?
I had four dresses in total. Two for the ceremony, which I designed and chose the fabrics for myself (under the Everyday Apparels custom made brand). And the other two were designed by House of Faithe. I didn't try on any of the dresses, I just designed my own, and for the other two, I told the designer my preferences and styles and let him design for me.
What was your first dance song? Did you choreograph or improvise?
Did you have any special performances or entertainment?
Just lovely speeches and songs from our sweet friends! And my husband's favorite DJ also played for us.
What was the most memorable moment from your wedding day?
We were so happy! And my husband got so drunk that I had to take him to intensive care that night.
Are there any vendors that you would like to tell us a little more about?
We are very happy with our photographers, Brilliantday Photography and Nawaphon Present. They are very professional and friendly. I've personally known Brilliantday Photography for so long, and it's really nice to be their client once in a while. I've known my make-up artist and hairdresser for almost 5 years. And it's fantastic and meaningful to have your close ones take care of your big day. Finally, all the bridesmaid dresses were from Everyday Apparels, my own clothing brand. The dresses were in shades of pink, which helped brighten up the venue.
What advice would you give to couples who are currently planning their wedding?
Just talk a lot. Communication is key. Planning well and sticking to the plan will also help. Obstacles will make your relationship even closer if you also depend on your partner's happiness.
Did you have any pre-wedding events, like a rehearsal dinner or bridal shower?
I had a bridal shower. It was on the roof of an Italian restaurant in Bangkok. It was very intimate and informal, as all my loved ones were there.
Did you make a gift for guests, and what was it? What did you give each other as a gift?
Our guest favors were small pouch bags with a screen #everydaytaetam from Everyday Apparels. The pouch was from one of my bestselling tote bags.
