"We ensure the day is truly about us...rather than conforming to others' expectations or desires," writes bride Vivienne, describing her and Anthony's intimate wedding just for themselves. Sometimes it's important to have a celebration of love and family just the two of you to enjoy each other and your connection. This is what the couple did, organizing a beautiful event filled with style and sophistication. Below you will find an interview with the bride and groom about their special experience and beautiful photos taken by our member, Emotions and Math.
Tell us a little about yourselves
We've shared a remarkable journey of 13 years, transitioning from friends to now happily married. Initially, we were poles apart in every aspect, embodying stark differences. Yet, over the course of 4 years together, we've managed to maintain our individuality while also drawing inspiration from each other, finding surprising similarities. An illustration of this is our unified perspective on marriage and wedding planning. Collaboratively, we crafted our special day into exactly what we envisioned.
Where was your wedding? Why did you choose this venue?
We selected Ross Farm as the venue for our ceremony, a choice that came unexpectedly. Despite considering countless ways to celebrate our special day without setting any limits, stumbling upon Ross Farm on social media captured our hearts instantly. The Wabi-Sabi vibes and unique architecture resonated with both of us, creating a sense of settled comfort. Opting to spend three days at Ross Farm, our ceremony unfolded organically on one of those memorable days.
What was the concept behind your wedding and how did you find your inspiration?
The less it resembles a traditional wedding, the more we embrace it. We ensure the day is truly about us — our essence and connection —rather than conforming to others' expectations or desires.
How long did it take to plan your wedding? Did you encounter any challenges during the planning process?
We were surprisingly quick in choosing the venue, taking just a day to decide. On the other hand, finding the perfect dress seemed to take a bit longer, around a month. Nonetheless, the entire process didn't pose any significant challenges for us.
How many guests did you have?
We don’t have any guests. We want to spend our day just focusing on each other.
Tell us about your outfits. How many different styles have you tried?
Vivienne: Wedding dresses just are not right on me. And I don’t want to buy something that I will only wear once. So I chose all the outfits I would wear on a normal day, but a little bit of glitz in extra. I played a bit of mix and match when preparing my outfits, like an extra-long veil to go with a plain white suit, or gumboots & leather gloves to go with a fancy organza dress.
Anthony: Keep it simple, black & white! Something classic, something that’s myself.
Are there any vendors that you would like to tell us a little more about?
Tweedtwigs, florist. Emotions and Math, photography, highly recommended! Outfit selected from Tory Burch, Carla Zampatti, Hugo Boss, Fear of God, Jimmy Choo, Louis Vuitton, The sleepers, Nike.
What advice would you give to couples who are currently planning their wedding?
Vivienne: To all the bride to be — Just Relax, go with the flow, and enjoy it! YES, it’s an important day, but it's also just one of many days in your life, it's totally fine to be imperfect.
Anthony: To all the groom to be — Shut up and always listen to the bride.
Did you have any special or unique elements (such as a signature cocktail or a fragrance) at your wedding?
We received a personalized perfume from Le Labo, featuring our names and wedding date delicately printed on the bottle. Each time I wear this fragrance, it transports me back to the day of our wedding, flooding my senses with the cherished memories of that special moment.
