Barely had we caught our breath from all the fashion inspiration coming straight from Venice Film Festival when Hollywood gave us another reason to keep the save folder open. The 78th Emmy Awards just wrapped up at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, turning its celebratory blue carpet into another place to collect wedding-fashion references. Front and center was Zendaya, who arrived in custom crystal-embellished Prada, debuted a sharply cropped pixie, and, as ever, gave us more than the look itself to talk about. Her longtime stylist Law Roach added another small piece to the ongoing puzzle around her wedding to Tom Holland, revealing that an “official” ceremony is still to come, potentially once the Dune: Part Three press tour is behind them. So, should we take this as the update, or simply another turn in Roach’s ongoing wedding tease?
The style inspiration continued with Nicole Kidman, whose custom white Chanel bustier gown by Mathieu Blazy was covered with 46 handcrafted flowers made from layers of silk crepe, organza and raffia. Elle Fanning went lighter and airier in mint-green Ralph Lauren, while Julia Garner took a bolder route in a relaxed, light-catching silver Loewe dress. And there was plenty more to bookmark. Across the carpet, the night moved between sharp tailoring, high-shine finishes, unexpected color and plenty of ideas worth borrowing for weddings well beyond the aisle. Ahead, the looks that made us stop, zoom in and, inevitably, hit save.
