What got you into wedding photography?
I had a few photographers in my family, so it didn't take long until I discovered it too. Having been given my first own camera at an early age, my love of photography has grown over the years. I've been working as a photographer for several years now, and I couldn't be more grateful for this dream job.
What kind of styles do you specialize in?
I use a well-balanced blend of storytelling and editorial photography for weddings. This way, I'm able to create timeless yet vibrant and authentic images. Besides wedding photography, I also love to work with like-minded brands from time to time.
What do you enjoy the most about photographing weddings?
I strive for connection with people and between people. It's a great responsibility for me to capture those once-in-a-lifetime moments - at the same time, for me, this is what the magic of photography is all about. It's just beautiful to see people so happy and emotional. Above all, I love being able to work together with my husband. It's the best team I could ever ask for.
How many images do you take during a wedding?
I don't usually work in continuous shooting mode - instead, I focus on taking pictures mindfully. Analog photography, which I've been doing for a long time, has inspired me to value individual shots and to focus on quality rather than quantity.
How do you handle difficult wedding venues?
If we have the chance, we visit the venue in advance to get an idea of what the light and atmosphere is like. Ultimately, it is important to consider the lighting conditions and to have a plan early on, especially for group pictures and couple shoots, to create high-quality results.
What was the most memorable wedding you've shot?
We get to work with many wonderful couples. We consider ourselves very lucky! Couples are planning their personal dream wedding, so all weddings are special in their own unique way. In the end, it's the atmosphere, the effortless elegance between those in love and their closest family and friends, that stays in my mind and inspires me over and over again.
What advice do you have for couples looking for a wedding photographer?
Take your time to make this decision. The pictures will be one of the few things of that day that will stay forever. Take your time to look at the photographer's portfolio and get to know them. Listen to your gut feeling.
