Alon Livné marked ten years of his label by returning to the very same venue that hosted his first runway show; a full-circle moment that gave the debut of his Fall 2027 collection, “Garlands,” extra weight. For the silhouettes themselves, he dove into the ocean and surfaced with something straight out of a mermaid’s dream. The gowns were rich with hand-executed embroidery, with wild pearls, encrusted shells and conches, and interwoven with antique jewelry. The designer took his cue from the ocean's depths, where his nymphs and abyssal sorceresses move along the line between light and dark.
On the body, the looks wear with an it-girl confidence that keeps all the embellishment from weighing anything down. Livné, who has dressed the likes of Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, and members of the Kardashian family, keeps the collection tightly edited, so every gown carries his signature and treats the bride as a canvas. Equal parts glittering and mysterious, "Garlands" makes a strong case for a wedding dress that looks as if it rose from the deep. A bride ready to feel like a sea goddess definitely has her pick here.
