Hungarian model Barbara Palvin and actor Dylan Sprouse are officially husband and wife! The two tied the knot in a church just outside Budapest. The couple originally planned to have a small and intimate celebration with close friends and family but ended up welcoming over 100 guests. Here are some of the awesome highlights from their big day.
Barbara and Dylan's love story started about six years ago when they both happened to be at the same event. The actor was instantly captivated by the model's charm and wasted no time messaging her. However, Barbara wasn't ready to dive in headfirst and ghosted Dylan for nearly six months. But as fate would have it, she fell for him too. By January 2019, the two were happily living together in their cozy Brooklyn apartment.
Last September Barbara and Dylan decided to take their relationship to the next level. While on a camping trip with friends in California, the couple got engaged in a cute and romantic way. Dylan chose a spot where Barbara could enjoy seeing her favorite animals - otters - and that's where he popped the big question.
Barbara and Dylan's long-awaited wedding finally happened on July 15 in Hungary, the model’s homeland. The couple decided to exchange vows in the exact same church in Albertirsa where Barbara's parents tied their knot 34 years ago. After the beautiful church service, they had a civil ceremony on the stunning grounds of Barbara's parents' property, Harlekin Birtok. “This was supposed to be an intimate event. But we ended up having 115 guests, because there are a lot of people we care about and we wanted them all to be there,” Barbara told Vogue in the interview.
Instead of hiring a wedding planner, Barbara and her sister Anita decided to plan every detail themselves. Since Harlekin Birtok often serves as a wedding venue, they had the necessary experience to organize a flawless celebration. As soon as Dylan and Barbara announced their engagement, Anita quickly sprang into action.
Barbara put a lot of thought into her wedding wardrobe and decided to change not just once, but three times throughout the celebration. For her ceremony, the bride wore a custom strapless Vivienne Westwood dress, which she paired with a '90s-inspired choker exclusively designed for her by Tiffany & Co.
For her second look, Barbara decided to go for a modern princess vibe. She chose a midi dress with a crisscross back by Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini, which was just perfect for dancing the night away. Her final look was no less eye-catching! Barbara wore a gorgeous red dress by a Hungarian brand called Mero. The choice of such an unusual color was intentional. In Hungary, it's a tradition for the bride to wear a red dress after midnight, to show her new relationship status. All her looks Barbara paired with white Jimmy Choo heels.
Barbara went for a natural and radiant makeup look, with brown-smoked lids, filled brows, and pink lips. The bride’s hairstyle featured a center parting and soft, flowy curls, elegantly secured with hairpins. After the ceremony, she adorned her hair with a charming white bow, which perfectly complemented her second look.
The groom opted for timeless and classic wedding attire. “I just wanted a very traditional tuxedo. And I made sure to shave,” shared Dylan. Later on, he changed into a stylish velvet burgundy suit to match the bride's stunning red dress. Meanwhile, the bridesmaids looked fabulous in cool pastel dresses, while the male guests donned classic black tuxedos.
Now, the couple is taking some well-deserved rest, and they have plans to organize a bigger celebration in California this coming fall.
