A celebration of timeless romance, craftsmanship, and modern rebellion

Against the poetic backdrop of the historic Universitat de Barcelona, Vivienne Westwood unveiled the 2026 Bridal Made-to-Order and Couture collections at Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week back in April, and we were lucky enough to be front row to experience it all first hand. Now, the collections have finally dropped for brides-to-be – a love letter to heritage, art, and the timeless allure of the English rose. At the heart of each collection is the house's unmistakable mastery of corsetry, which shapes silhouettes that whisper of centuries past while embracing the modern bride's strength and individuality. The pieces bloom with layers of tulle and organza, their delicate textures unfolding like petals in spring – soft, ethereal, and impossibly romantic.

For the Made-to-Order collection, tradition meets quiet rebellion. Westwood’s archival signatures – draping, structure, and subversive femininity – are reimagined through a contemporary lens. The collection's rose print, inspired by 18th-century botanist Pierre-Joseph Redouté, intertwines with orange blossom motifs. These motifs symbolize purity and renewal. Italian duchesse satin, faded lace, and washed jacquards evoke heirloom garments – pieces that tell a story, are lovingly worn and passed down, and are reborn.

The Couture line elevates these themes to their most exquisite expression. Each gown is meticulously handcrafted in the London atelier and captures the spirit of artistry and devotion. From sculptural silhouettes to whisper-light trains, the collection feels both ancient and avant-garde – a study in contrasts, a dance between structure and softness. Every stitch is a testament to Vivienne Westwood’s legacy, where heritage is intertwined with innovation and nostalgia is reimagined for the modern muse.
