In Menorca, Cris and Julien created a wedding that felt less like a traditional celebration and more like a world entirely their own. They chose Lithica, a dramatic stone quarry carved into the island’s landscape, and let its raw textures, sculptural rock, and natural light become the starting point for the entire design. Against the monumental setting, the styling remained deliberately restrained: soft florals, candlelight, natural fabrics, and a neutral palette brought warmth and intimacy without competing with the stone. From a cinematic entrance to flamenco performed during dinner, every detail carried something personal, Spanish, and deeply connected to who they are. Our Love Story

The Day We Met

We met through work, although neither of us could have imagined at the time that a professional meeting would become the beginning of our love story. The moment I saw her, I was completely thrown off—in the best possible way. There was something about her that immediately caught my attention and made it very difficult to focus on the meeting as simply a business encounter. After a few months of patiently pursuing her, Cristina finally agreed to meet me for a coffee. Looking back, I think the waiting was part of the story—it certainly taught me that some things are worth being patient for. And in the end, my patience paid off. That first coffee was the beginning of something far more meaningful than either of us could have imagined.

The Proposal

We love to travel the world, so we went to Patina, Cris’s favorite hotel in the Maldives. We spent the day aboard a beautiful catamaran, and at sunset, I asked her to marry me. It was already a deeply meaningful day for Cris, as it was connected to a special memory she shared with her grandmother. I had prepared my entire proposal in Spanish with the help of a close friend—even though, at the time, I couldn’t speak Spanish yet.

As we watched the sun slowly disappear into the horizon, we were incredibly lucky to be joined by a family of dolphins, jumping and swimming beside us, almost as if they had come to share the moment. It felt incredibly intimate and magical—a moment that seemed to belong only to the two of us.

Our Wedding

The Vision

Our vision was to create a wedding that felt deeply connected to nature while remaining refined and intimate. We were drawn to the stone quarry for its raw beauty, dramatic rock formations, and sense of strength and permanence—qualities that felt symbolic of the foundation we wanted to build for our marriage. Rather than transforming the space, we wanted to work with its natural character, using understated details, soft florals, candlelight, and a neutral palette to complement the stone. Ultimately, the concept was about contrast: raw and refined, monumental and intimate, dramatic and romantic. We wanted the setting to feel unforgettable while the experience remained warm, emotional, and genuinely ours.

Our Team of Vendors

Choosing Limbela Studio, led by Carlota del Dedo, as our wedding stylist and organizer was, without a doubt, one of the best decisions we made. Our planner, became the person who connected all the pieces. From coordinating vendors and managing logistics to overseeing the wedding day, she and her amazing team went above and beyond to ensure our guests felt comfortable and well taken care of.

I wanted minimal decoration and had been following Mia Sylvia’s work for quite some time, so when we began shaping the visual concept for the wedding, I knew they would be the perfect match. I was drawn to the way they work with texture, movement, and natural materials, and felt that their aesthetic would complement the rawness of the quarry beautifully. Their work brought another layer of warmth and artistry to the setting, creating a beautiful dialogue between the softness of the textiles and the strength of the stone. It felt very natural—nothing was forced, and every element seemed to belong within the landscape.

The Location

Menorca was one of the first places we visited together, and we keep returning whenever we can. Its timeless, natural beauty and peaceful character made it the perfect place to bring our loved ones together. I had visited Lithica years before and was immediately captivated by the quarry’s raw beauty and unique atmosphere. Although it was an unconventional choice, when Julien and I returned together, we both fell in love with it. We knew instantly that its natural character, dramatic stone, and sense of permanence made it the perfect setting for our wedding.

The Ceremony

Our ceremony was one of the most personal parts of the day. It was officiated by Julien’s sister and two of my childhood friends, which made it incredibly meaningful to have the people who know us best guide us into this new chapter together. The ceremony was conducted in French, Spanish, and English, allowing everyone to feel included and reflecting the different cultures, backgrounds, and relationships that brought us together. It wasn’t just a ceremony about us as a couple, but also about the people and cultures that have shaped who we are. Having our closest loved ones standing beside us and telling our story made it one of the most emotional and memorable moments of the wedding.

The Reception

Food was a very important part of the experience for us. We wanted our guests to not only enjoy the setting and atmosphere, but to genuinely remember the meal. Salgar Catering understood this from the beginning and brought incredible care and attention to every detail. The dinner was exceptional, but the cocktail hour truly exceeded all expectations, becoming one of the highlights of the evening. We especially loved their interpretation of lobster with eggs—a simple, familiar dish that they reimagined and elevated while preserving its essence and authenticity.

The service was equally impressive—warm, professional, and seamless. Their attention to detail continued even after the wedding, reflecting how much pride they take in what they do. Looking back, we couldn’t have been happier with our choice. They contributed so much to the overall experience and helped make the evening feel effortless for us and our guests.

Our Favorite Moments

One of our favorite moments of the day was our entrance into the cocktail hour. We chose "Time" by Pink Floyd as the soundtrack, and the combination of the music, the setting, and the energy of the moment felt incredibly powerful. Being Spanish, flamenco has always been very close to my heart, so incorporating it into our wedding felt like a natural way to bring a part of myself into the celebration. We wanted to surprise our guests with something authentic, so we had live flamenco music and a dancer perform during dinner. There was something particularly special about experiencing such a deeply Spanish tradition in the middle of the quarry—the rawness of the stone, the intimacy of the dinner, and the passion of the flamenco created a powerful contrast. 

Our Style

The Bridal Looks

I discovered the T.ba atelier almost by chance—I had never heard of it before. By that point, I had already visited at least six other ateliers, trying on different looks without finding the one that felt right. Then I saw the skirt. I remember instantly knowing that this was it. There was something about its shape, movement, and simplicity that immediately resonated with me. Amaya and Sol were enormously patient and welcoming throughout the whole process. That made the experience even more special and allowed me to truly enjoy finding the look.

The Groom Looks

My suit was a gift from my best friend. As we grew up in Luxembourg, we went to Ferala, where we chose a beautiful fabric from Loro Piana in an off-white color. We went for a classic double-breasted jacket without front pockets and with only two buttons to make it sleeker. I added Hermès cufflinks and a beautiful Vacheron Constantin watch—a present from Cristina’s father that he acquired when she was born.

The Wedding Party

We wanted the dress code to feel as intentional as every other element of the wedding. We both wore white, while our guests were dressed in black, creating a striking sense of contrast and unity. Against the natural tones of the quarry, the black attire felt dramatic and sophisticated, while our white looks brought lightness and purity to the setting. We loved how simple the concept was, yet how powerful it became visually. It also created a beautiful sense of togetherness. Everyone was part of the same aesthetic, while we remained the focal point of the celebration. The result felt timeless, elegant, and a little unexpected—exactly the feeling we wanted for the wedding.
