Destination Wedding, 2018
This story is about Frank and Lindsay, who meet on their way to the wedding of their mutual friends. Frank is a confirmed bachelor who has been alone for a long time and is already happy in his solitude. Lindsay is going to the wedding of the love of her life, and now she is left alone and has turned into a very cynical woman. An unlikely friendship between our two main characters turns into a string of ridiculous events, intellectual disputes, and emotional intimacy. The movie is full of good jokes but the main thing is the touching main idea that runs like a red thread through the whole plot: believe in love, and it will find you, no matter how cynical you are.
Something Borrowed, 2011
Successful lawyer Rachel and glamorous girl Darcy are best friends who have shared everything, if not equally, then for two since childhood. Rachel is more of a mother figure. Darcy is the party animal and is marrying the rich and handsome Dexter. It turns out that Rachel and Dexter are a better match and the wedding is turned upside down. "Something Borrowed" is not a rom-com, as it might seem at first glance, but quite a melodrama in the spirit of Russian classics.
Bride Wars, 2009
Bride Wars will give you everything you want from a bridal movie: Vera Wang dresses, the iconic little blue box from Tiffany & Co, and the only free day in June at the Plaza Hotel. This is one of the best films for a relaxing evening to get away from your own pre-wedding worries, look at someone else's, and spend some time appreciating the full scope of a wedding planner's work.
The Wedding Planner, 2001
This is perhaps the most famous film about the wedding planner. Jennifer Lopez's character Mary is a real professional, with whom all the brides of the city dream of working. She is in no hurry to walk down the aisle - until she meets the handsome Dr. Steve and has the most helpless crush on him. All of Mary's dreams are shattered when she finds out that she has to plan Steve's wedding to another woman.
Runaway Bride, 1999
The legendary cast, an interesting plot, and a very kind story made this film a true cult film. It’s definitely worth rewatching, even if you have already seen Maggie running away before the ceremony more than once. This film proves that despite our personal problems, each of us has the right to love and have a happy ending. Well, looking at a couple of Julia Roberts and Richard Gere is a separate pleasure.
My Best Friend's Wedding, 1997
The main characters Julianne and Michael have been friends since childhood, they open up to each other about dating and act like family. But when one side of the best friend relationship asks another woman to marry him, Julianne realizes that she is about to lose the love of her life. She hatches a plan and it goes wrong from the beginning. It's a beautifully written and acted story (starring Julia Roberts, Cameron Diaz, and Dermot Maloney).
Four Weddings and a Funeral, 1994
Brilliant British humor, young Hugh Grant, and the atmosphere of London in the 1990s - these are the makings of a great film. Charles, played by Hugh Grant, attends the wedding of a close friend and finds immediate attraction in Carrie, a bold American woman. They meet up again and again, at four weddings and a funeral, and the rest is history.
The Marrying Man, 1991
