Otro Cantar is more than a floral studio—you also design stationery, style events, and curate rentals. How did this multifaceted creative world begin?
Otro Cantar, as we know it today, was founded four years ago, but it’s built on more than 20 years of experience in the events world. From the very beginning, we set out to offer a full creative service—combining materials, stationery, florals, installations, and overall design to shape each celebration as a whole. Over time, we’ve grown into a collaborative team of designers, florists, stylists, and production specialists who work together to bring every element of décor to life—from concept to execution—so couples and planners can trust us to craft the complete atmosphere of their event.

How would you describe the Otro Cantar aesthetic, and what makes your style distinctly 'you' throughout all the threads of your work?
Our style balances warmth, elegance, and curiosity. We love natural textures, earthy palettes, and refined details, but we’re just as drawn to exploring unexpected, more contemporary directions. What makes our work distinctly us is the way we adapt to new inspirations while weaving in our own layer of emotion and coherence—that unmistakable OC touch that makes each event feel personal and alive.

Mallorca is your home base. How does the island’s nature and cultural heritage shape the way you design weddings?
Mallorca gives us a strong foundation in authenticity—the light, the sea, the architecture, the slower pace of life. These elements inspire us to design celebrations that feel organic to their setting and true to each couple. Still, our vision isn’t bound to one place: this year we worked in Ibiza, and it was a joy to bring our style to another island. We’re always open to traveling further, carrying a piece of Otro Cantar wherever couples want us to be.

Where do you usually begin when a couple comes to you? Do you start with mood boards or the bigger picture?
It always begins with listening. We start by understanding the couple’s story, their vision, and the atmosphere they want to create. From there, we translate these details into mood boards, palettes, and sketches that tie into the bigger picture of the celebration. If a planner already has a defined concept, we adapt it to our collection. If not, we design it from scratch, making sure every decision—from a napkin fold to a lighting installation—tells the same story.

Florals are such a signature part of your work. What are some unexpected flower choices or design tricks that make arrangements feel fresh yet timeless?
Our floral team is constantly training and exploring new techniques to stay ahead of trends. Each season, they attend courses and workshops to refine their craft, ensuring our arrangements always feel current yet timeless. Beyond flowers, we’re increasingly integrating textiles into our designs, creating fabric-draped ceilings, ceremony canopies, and dining spaces framed with fabric. Sometimes, we even use textiles as a substitute for florals. This shift allows us to create spectacular, sculptural installations that feel immersive and innovative while keeping the floral work fresh and uncluttered.

When it comes to weddings, styling can often be underestimated for its ability to transform a space and set the mood. What’s your philosophy when it comes to curating furniture, lighting, and decor, and how do you make each wedding feel unique?
For us, styling is not decoration, it’s scenography. Furniture, lighting, textiles, and florals shape the rhythm of the day and create the emotions guests experience. Each wedding is unique because we approach it as a story: we study the architecture, the couple’s personality, and the landscape, and build a design that belongs to that specific moment. Nothing is ever replicated; it always feels as though it could only have been created for that one day.

With a rental collection of furniture, textiles, and lighting sourced from around the world, how do you approach your curation? What makes a piece special, and how do you bring everything together into a cohesive yet adaptable collection?
Every new piece is chosen with great care. This year, for example, we incorporated a curved sofa that can transform into a serpentine shape, several new counters, and statement bars. For us, a piece is special if it brings character, versatility, or a line that can redefine a space. And it’s never only about furniture, we’re constantly sourcing new textiles. Soon, part of our team will attend the Istanbul textile fair to discover high-quality fabrics and connect with international suppliers. All these choices come together in a collection that is cohesive yet adaptable to different design directions.

With over 20 years of experience, what’s one styling mistake couples often make? What’s your best tip for avoiding it?
It’s important for couples to stay true to their own style. Too often, trends can overshadow their personal story and taste, making them feel hesitant to suggest ideas that feel authentic simply because they’re not “in fashion.” We believe a wedding should reflect who you are as a couple—your journey, your memories, your essence—rather than replicate what’s trending online. Our tip: start with what genuinely resonates with you, and let the styling elevate that authenticity.

As we move into the 2026 wedding season, what creative concepts or trends are you most excited to explore?
We’re excited to continue developing our textile installations, which are becoming increasingly sought after. We’re equally inspired by the way weddings are evolving into experiences that feel closer to art installations or stage productions. This shift fuels us because it highlights the immense creative effort behind an event—not only our own work, but also that of planners, florists, sound and light technicians, chefs, musicians, servers, and so many others. A wedding is a collective work of art, and seeing that value recognized inspires us deeply.
