Our Love Story
The Day We Met
We met five years ago while working on a joint project. I work for Gucci, and he works for Google. We were about to launch a collaboration when Covid struck. The project never launched, but in 2021, we started dating!
The Proposal
Silvestro asked me to marry him on the lovely Greek island of Hydra, on a simple yet breathtaking terrace overlooking the sea and sunset.
The Engagement Ring
Silvestro always knew I would love a gold ring with a green stone, so he went to a renowned Roman jeweler to craft it: a yellow gold base, a Colombian emerald, and tiny diamonds all around.
Our Wedding
The Vision
The idea was to highlight the natural and historical identity of the castle as the main character of the setting, complemented by the warm light of Rome. For this reason, we chose green plants and flowers with a light touch of white, dark brown chairs, and long convivial tables draped with white tablecloths covered in candles and a minimal mise-en-place.
Our Team of Vendors
We chose friends whenever possible and like-minded professionals.
The Location
The Castello di Torre in Pietra is a charming venue set in the Roman countryside, owned by Silvestro’s family. It is not only an elegant historic site but also deeply meaningful to Silvestro, who helps manage the winery based in the caves beneath the castle. It is equally special to me, as we spent our first week together in this countryside at the beginning of our relationship.
The Ceremony
We chose a civil ceremony, and having a dear friend officiate made the occasion more intimate, heartfelt, and special. Silvestro and I exchanged vows and invited our parents and friends to share a few words. Many eagerly participated, delivering beautiful speeches and well-wishes throughout the ceremony and dinner.
We wanted the small church to serve as the backdrop for the ceremony, so we opted for minimal floral arrangements—just a large green bush with small white flowers framing the wedding scene. For seating, we selected dark brown Thonet chairs for the guests and small, vintage beige puffs for themselves, in front of a table draped in a beige tablecloth. The color palette was chosen to harmonize with the surrounding nature.
The Reception
To fully utilize the castle's beautiful spaces, we structured the reception in stages: beginning with a standing aperitif and food stations in a charming courtyard, transitioning to a seated dinner under the grand plane trees of the main garden, and concluding with a dessert buffet in the castle’s stunning, frescoed halls. Live music played throughout the entire reception.
The Special Touches
For the reception, we chose long convivial tables draped with white tablecloths, completely covered with candles and green floral arrangements with a minimal mise-en-place. The goal was to enhance the atmosphere without overwhelming the already rich surroundings.
Our Favorite Moment
During the planning stages it has to be the Champagne tastings with both families at Roscioli in the city center of Rome. During the wedding it was friends’ speeches, the magical and energetic atmosphere, and everyone singing along with a guitarist friend during the wedding cake moment.
Our Style
The Bridal Look
My dress and veil were by Vivienne Westwood. I paired it with Vintage Chanel shoes. I also wore a pair of earrings paired with the necklace my mother wore on her big day.
The Groom Looks
Silvestro wore a classic three-piece suit, tailor-made in Rome by Sartoria Cappetta. He paired it wth black brogue shoes from an artisanal workshop in Milan, a sand-colored tie from the Cruciani & Bella boutique in Rome, and a pair of beautiful gold cufflinks, a gift from me for the occasion.
Our Advice
For the Planning Process
The night before, we organized a simple but unforgettable aperitif on the beach that turned into a beach party. This allowed guests to get to know each other and break the ice before the wedding day, helping to create an amazing atmosphere and energy for the whole weekend!
For On The Day
We recommend structuring the event timeline carefully to avoid empty moments, keeping the pace lively and ensuring guests remain engaged and excited.
For Post-Wedding
We recommend taking at least a couple of days to yourselves to fully enjoy the moment and relax, as we did in a boutique hotel in Liguria.
