In the golden light of the Tuscan countryside, Karley and Justin exchanged vows at Villa Cetinale in Siena, Italy—a 17th-century estate that felt like it was destined to be part of their love story. Guests sipped Hugo Spritzes under climbing wisteria, while candlelit tables adorned with calla lilies and silk bows enhanced the villa’s storied architecture. From the handmade tortelli served at dinner to the saxophone DJ keeping the party alive well into the night, every detail embodied the couple’s vision, creating a celebration of love that was refined, intimate, and effortlessly romantic.
Our Love Story
The Day We Met
Met in high school, became friends in college, fell in love in Newport Beach, CA.
The Proposal
Justin and I were living in Laguna Beach when he secretly arranged to have my dad's 1956 Thunderbird shipped to California from Nebraska—while also coordinating travel for my friends and family to come into town. On a perfect fall day in California, during what I thought was just a simple dinner outing, he took me to one of our favorite lookout spots. There, he revealed the Thunderbird and got down on one knee. He then led me down a hillside, where our loved ones were gathered, ready to celebrate with us for the weekend.
The Engagement Ring
A yellow elongated cushion-cut diamond on a thin gold band.
Our Wedding
The Vision
Timeless, elegant, and romantic.
Our Team of Vendors
We worked closely with our planners, hand-selecting some vendors while taking their recommendations for others. Looking back at the incredible team we assembled, I couldn’t be happier—we truly feel like the luckiest to have experienced the magic they created that day. We loved each and every one of them.
The Location
Cetinale. This storied 17th-century villa outside of Siena, Italy, took our breath away when we visited with our planners. It encompassed everything we love about Italy, and there was no question—this was the place for us.
The Ceremony
We both agree this was the only moment of the day where it felt like time slowed down. Justin and his family walked down the aisle to Foundations by Kolidescopes, I walked down to Godspeed by Paravi, and we ended with Signed, Sealed, Delivered by Stevie Wonder. We wrote our own vows, and my uncle was our officiant. To honor my brother and dad, I asked my cousin to walk me from the villa to the start of the aisle. Walking down alone felt like the right way to remind everyone of their presence and love.
The Reception
The tortelli. The saxophone DJ. The cake. But nothing stole the show quite like the Hugo Spritz.
The Special Touches
Edenique’s floral and table designs were so thoughtfully crafted and placed. Her calla lilies and silk bow arrangements brought just the right amount of elegance and romance while still allowing Cetinale to speak for itself. Her vision and talent were the glue that brought our dream to life.
Our Favorite Moment
Walking together from the recessional to the villa for a private moment, just the two of us. We held each other, and in that moment, it felt like we became one. It was now us.
Our Style
The Bridal Looks
I wore Danielle Frankel gown for the ceremony and Katherine Tash gown for the after-party. The perfect duo, in my eyes.
The Groom Looks
A classic black tux—the only option.
Our Advice
For The Planning Process
Have a long engagement! Having almost two years to plan a destination wedding made it so much easier to space out big decisions, book the vendors we wanted, stay within budget, and meet mailing deadlines. It also gave our guests time to decide if they could make the trip to Italy and plan well in advance.
For On The Day
Trust all the preparation you’ve done, and remind yourself—this day is yours.
For Post-Wedding
Don’t hold back on your honeymoon plans. Go somewhere on your bucket list, and take. all. the. time. you. can.
