Jewelry designer and influencer Noy Tawil has an instinct for creating beauty that feels deeply personal, so it comes as no surprise that her wedding to Steven was imagined with the same thoughtful eye. Rather than planning a single celebration, the couple created an immersive weekend on the shores of Mykonos, where every element was carefully considered yet never overworked. Drawn to the island's sun-bleached landscape, earthy textures, and effortless spirit, they embraced a design language of warm terracotta tones, flowing fabrics, handcrafted ceramics, and restrained florals that echoed the natural surroundings instead of competing with them. Guests moved through a series of experiences, from a sunset cocktail hour to a barefoot ceremony beneath a sculptural chuppah. Fashion became another chapter of the story, with Noy changing through a series of bridal looks that reflected different sides of her personality — from luminous gold for the welcome party to an ethereal Chana Marelus gown for the ceremony and sparkling party dresses. Our Love Story

The Day We Met

Our story began because of a cancelled flight. I was supposed to fly home from New York, but because of the war my flight was cancelled, and I unexpectedly stayed longer than planned. Two weeks later, Steven sent me a message on Instagram, and on our first date he told me he had actually been following me for almost five years. He had tried reaching out before and even asked mutual friends to introduce us, but somehow I never saw any of it. Looking back now, it feels like life simply waited for the right timing.

The Proposal

Steven proposed during a ten-day trip through Italy, after we traveled through Sardinia and the Dolomites. I had spent the entire trip wondering when he was finally going to propose, so by then I had completely given up. At 5 a.m., he woke up and told me he had heartburn and was going downstairs to get medicine, only to come back a few minutes later wearing a hotel robe, pushing a trolley full of candles, and saying, "Time to wake up, baby." The funniest part was hearing the photographer before I realized I couldn't even get out of bed because I was completely naked, so Steven had to hand me a robe first. It was unexpected, emotional, and very much us.

The Engagement Ring

As a jewelry designer and founder of Noy Tawil Jewelry, I knew I would be very particular about my engagement ring. I chose an elongated cushion-cut diamond with beautifully rounded corners, sitting somewhere between a cushion and an oval, set with compass prongs on a simple yellow gold band. It took a long time to find exactly the right stone, but once we did, I knew it was the one because it felt timeless, elegant, and completely unique.

Our Wedding

The Vision

We never wanted our wedding to feel like one evening. We wanted an entire weekend that felt like a movie. The vision was warm, bohemian, and effortless, inspired by the Mediterranean and the desert landscapes of Mykonos.

Our Team of Vendors

One thing that was really important to us was building an international creative team. Our planners were Greek, our content creator was Israeli, our photographers were a German couple based in Portugal, our filmmaker was Brazilian, and our musicians were Israeli and Greek. That combination of cultures brought together exactly the creative energy we had imagined.

The Location

We always knew we wanted Europe, but Italy and France felt a little too formal for who we are. Mykonos felt lighter, freer, and much more aligned with our personalities. We also loved that our guests could truly enjoy the island between events. The dry landscape almost feels like a desert meeting the sea, which perfectly reflects the aesthetic we both love.

The Ceremony

Although we had already celebrated an intimate Jewish ceremony in Israel, it was important for us to include a symbolic chuppah in Mykonos as well. Walking down the aisle barefoot was one of my favorite decisions because feeling the sand beneath my feet made me feel completely grounded and connected to the island.

The ceremony setup took our breath away. The stools were in warm terracotta tones, and the chuppah was decorated with flowing fabric and flowers, while the fresh florals were intentionally chosen to complement the natural landscape rather than overpower it. Everything felt beautifully connected to the setting instead of looking overdone.

The Cocktail Hour

The cocktail hour really set the tone for the weekend. We had an incredible Greek band called Nandra playing a mix of Afro and Moroccan-inspired music while guests enjoyed the sunset, surrounded by flowing fabrics, Moroccan rugs, and earthy décor. It felt relaxed, warm, and exactly how we imagined the weekend beginning. It took place before the ceremony because I didn't want people to be hungry and itching for a drink while the ceremony was taking place.

The Reception

Music was probably the most important part of our celebration. Throughout the night, we mixed Afro House, electronic music, Arabic influences, American music, and Jewish songs that brought everyone onto the dance floor together. Watching friends and family from different countries celebrate together is something we'll never forget.

The Special Touches

Every detail was intentionally connected to the island rather than competing with it. Instead of extravagant floral installations, we focused on movement, natural fabrics, ceramic vessels, clay-colored furniture, and textures inspired by the surrounding landscape. The visual storytelling was equally important. I wanted the photography to feel alive instead of overly posed, and our wedding film to have a documentary feel rather than a traditional cinematic style. I asked our content creator to capture real moments—what our guests wore, spontaneous conversations, and the atmosphere—rather than staged content.

Our Favorite Moment

Ironically, one of our favorite memories happened because something went wrong. During the cake cutting, there were no plates, so I simply grabbed a huge piece of cake with my hands. Steven did the same, and within seconds we both had cake all over our faces while everyone laughed. It wasn't planned, but it perfectly reflected who we are.

The Bridal Looks

Fashion has always been one of the ways I tell stories, so every look represents a different chapter of the weekend. For the welcome party, I wore two custom Eli Tala looks. Every piece of jewelry I wore throughout the weekend was designed by me for Noy Tawil Jewelry, which made the experience incredibly personal. For the welcome party, I designed diamond snake earrings and a turquoise hand bracelet inspired by ancient Egyptian and Persian aesthetics. 

For the ceremony, I wore a custom Chana Marelus gown. Later that evening, I changed into a beaded May Mashiah gown for dancing and then into a short Ronalina Bridal dress for the after-party. For the ceremony, I wanted my neckline to remain clean, so I created wave-inspired climbing diamond earrings with delicate pear-shaped drops. For the dancing look, I switched to baguette diamond ear cuffs, floral diamond earrings, and one of my signature diamond tennis bracelets.

The Groom's Looks

Steven's style is timeless and understated. For the welcome party, he wore an embroidered beige Bode suit that perfectly matched the relaxed Mediterranean atmosphere. For the wedding, he wore a custom F.P. Johnson tuxedo that felt elegant while still reflecting his personal style.

Our Advice

For the Planning Process

Try not to chase perfection. Focus on creating a wedding that genuinely reflects who you are as a couple rather than what you think a wedding is supposed to look like.

Let go. Trust the people you've chosen, stay present, and don't spend the day worrying about things your guests will never even notice.

For Post-Wedding

Don't measure your wedding by how perfect everything looked. Measure it by how it made you feel. The moments you'll remember most probably won't be the ones you planned—they'll be the unexpected ones.
