THE WED planner Charley from Coda's Events orchestrated this stunning wedding editorial, drawing inspiration from the vibrant hues of yellow which she pulled from her unique perspective on Australia as someone encountering the beauty of its landscapes for the first time. The central color of yellow was meant to embody the sun’s brilliance and the captivating sunsets, mirroring the warmth and liveliness of its people, as well as wild quality of the diverse natural habitats that adorn this remarkable land. The excess and color palette of the floral and cake design were used to reference this liveliness, while the attire, model styling, stationery, and place settings incorporated the modern and and fashion-forward essence of Melbourne's wedding scene.
The photoshoot unfolded at the Terrace at the Royal Botanic Gardens, a breathtaking venue that perfectly captured the fusion of wild, vibrant elements with chic, modern styling, as envisioned by Charley. Being a planner and designer from abroad, she leaned on social media to connect with vendors and form her dream team for this editorial. It was crucial for Coda's Events to collaborate with vendors who resonated with their aesthetics and vision for the project.
Once Charley had her perfect team in place, she arranged one-on-one meetings with each vendor and provided them with a Pinterest board alongside a comprehensive design guide to serve as a reference for the photoshoot and spark creativity.
"This shoot was a testament to the significance of trusting our intuition. We let our instincts guide us toward elements that resonated with us. Each element – the flowers, the cake, the table settings, the attire – holds its own beauty, imbued by the vendor who crafted it, but the real magic happens when all the elements (and vendors) come together to create a visually impactful and emotionally moving experience. I hope couples and photography professionals can sense the emotion and magic we all experienced while crafting this remarkable collection in Melbourne," shared Charley with us.
