We’ve Seen Thousands of Wedding Venues – These Are the 20 We’re Obsessed With for 2027 Weddings

The iconic spaces our editors can't stop thinking about — and neither will you

The best wedding venues worth obsessing over have a gravitational pull that's hard to explain and impossible to ignore. These spaces render every other decision secondary — where the flowers, stationery, dress code, and decor reorient themselves around the architecture, the landscape, and the atmosphere of the place itself. Our editors have been quietly stockpiling a list of them: destinations discovered mid-scroll, shared amongst each other, and bookmarked to visit, wed at or return to one day. From carved-out quarries to a centuries-old Sicilian tuna-fishing compound, these venues offer unbeatable backdrops and perhaps some unconventional destinations, so you'd better pack accordingly.

Teatro L’Occitane

Set in Trancoso on Brazil's Bahia coast, Teatro L'Occitane is instantly recognizable by its sharp architecture and theatre-style seating made chic. Here, the venue's natural backdrop does all the talking, requiring little to no additional decor needed. Whether staged under full sun or open sky at night, the space adapts to its atmosphere with a sense of ease and always with an editorial appeal. The complex is managed by an in-house team, covering everything from high gastronomy and floral design to bar programming and audiovisual production, meaning the entire event infrastructure arrives fully assembled and ready to host your unforgettable celebration.

Parque Quetzalcóatl

Technically closed to the general public and still actively being built, this living landscape on the outskirts of Mexico City has the quality of somewhere discovered rather than booked. Parque Quetzalcóatl features curved, organic structures that seem to almost disappear into the surrounding vegetation. Between the winding pathways, the seating carved directly into the grass, and the mosaic ceilings above, you'll have the impression to have stepped into another world. Limited visits are available by reservation, and for the couple who wants a ceremony that feels transportative, this is the one.

Carrières des Lumières

A ceremony inside moving projected light, inside a limestone quarry, in Provence — the pitch practically writes itself. At Carrières des Lumières, the stone walls become the canvas: floor-to-ceiling, completely immersive, and unlike anything else European venues have to offer. For couples willing to think past the traditional, a ceremony held inside projected light is one of the most visually striking propositions on the continent. Outside, the Alpilles landscape handles the rest, with silver olive trees, dramatic rocky outcrops, and the particular dreamy quality of the South of France light.

TWA Hotel

The TWA Hotel, Eero Saarinen's swooping 1962 terminal at JFK, has been fully restored and is now operating as a hotel and event space. It's a rare New York wedding venue with an impeccable retro vibe: vibrant red carpets, midcentury interiors that are obsessively period-correct, and a rooftop infinity pool overlooks the runway with a view that is equal parts glamorous and unreal in the best possible way. Having hosted numerous iconic weddings in the Sunken Lounge or other event spaces, the property can accommodate anything from an intimate ceremony to a 200-person reception. The overall atmosphere skews golden-age-of-travel in a way that requires very little additional styling to land.

Neuendorf House

Instantly recognizable by its blush-colored stone walls, Neuendorf House is the kind of venue where the architecture does all the work and the couple's job is simply to show up. Located in Mallorca, Spain, the minimalist architecture has been carefully designed to manipulate light, space, and texture in just the right way. Accented by its lush greenery, the venue also features two saltwater pools, a rooftop terrace with sea views, and a clay tennis court, making it a full wedding weekend property.

Tonnaro di Scopello

Sea stacks, a stone cove, centuries of fishing history still visible in the equipment left on site, and a Mediterranean garden that took generations to grow into itself — Tonnara di Scopello is undeniably atmospheric. The former tuna fishing compound on Sicily's northwestern coast retains its working-museum character while operating fully as a hotel and events space. Ancient stone, salt air, and an unbeatable view over the sea stacks: the backdrop is already there, which means the only thing left to do is celebrate all night beside it.

La Cuadra

Few wedding venues come with the architectural pedigree of La Cuadra, the equestrian estate outside Mexico City commissioned by a thoroughbred horse breeder and completed by Luis Barragán between 1966 and 1968. The complex integrates a residence, stables, and sweeping equestrian grounds, all held together by that unmistakable Barragán pink wall. As of 2025, the property operates as a cultural campus that hosts private events, and there is undeniably nothing else on earth with the same blueprint.

Sol de Oriente

Sol de Oriente is an ocean castle on the Pacific coast of Jalisco, Mexico that turns wedding venue into a scene from a movie. The 360° infinity pool hangs directly above the water, grand palapas open onto open-air dining rooms, and the vibrant yellow color of the architecture will stand out in every photograph. As one of the independent structures of the broader Careyes compound, your wedding will have complete privacy and can accommodate a few guests between the main property and the surrounding bungalows.

Maison Mystique

Nestled in Khao Yai, Thailand, Maison Mystique boutique hotel is equal parts maximalist and mythological. With rooms named Botanical Obscura, Nocturnal Curiosities, Celestial Lullaby, and Siren Reverie, each space built around its own sensory world. The garden is the real draw for weddings: winding pathways through vine-draped archways, a labyrinth, an arbor canopied in blooms, and a kitchen garden that feeds directly into the dining program. With its vibrant green walls and architecture that skews dark romance and botanical fantasy, nothing else comes close to Maison Mystique.

Herdade do Freixo

Built into the earth of the Alentejo countryside in Portugal, Herdade do Freixo is a brutalist winery that descends 131 feet (40 meters) below the vineyard across three subterranean floors. From above, all you see are rolling hills and vineyards, while below the architecture is all raw concrete, ascetic geometry, and a play with softly filtered light. Couples have transformed the space into living ecosystems of carnivorous plants and futuristic installations, or stripped it back entirely and let the concrete speak for itself.

Rayavadee

Accessible only by boat and sitting at the edge of Krabi Marine National Park in Thailand, Rayavadee is the kind of exclusive resort that makes the journey feel like part of the wedding. The signature ceremony venue is The Grotto: a natural limestone cave opening directly onto Phranang Beach, with the Andaman Sea as the backdrop and sand under your feet. Arguably one of the most extraordinary ceremony spaces in Southeast Asia, you'll discover 26 acres of coconut groves, tropical gardens, beaches, and limestone cliffs that can also be used as the backdrop to your ceremony.

La Foleia

If you want your wedding to feel like a step inside of a painting, La Foleia is the venue for you. This private villa has its own lake brimmng with lotus flowers and water lilies, earning the word romantic without even trying. Set close to Arona in northern Italy, the relais offers total seclusion wrapped in frescoed lounges, English-style verandas, and a botanical garden that looks like it was cultivated specifically to host the dreamiest Italian countryside weddings. A personal chef handles lunches and dinners, a private boat sits on the lake, and an outdoor wellness completes this self-contained world.

La Colombe d'Or

Few venues capture the romance of the French Riviera quite like La Colombe d’Or, where hospitality and art have been intertwined for more than a century. Once a cherished retreat for artists such as Pablo Picasso and Salvador Dalí, the intimate property nestled in Saint-Paul-de-Vence feels like a private collector’s estate, with museum-worthy works spilling from its dining rooms into sculpture-filled gardens. It's this effortless blend of Provençal warmth, creative history, and quietly extraordinary beauty that makes it one of our favorite wedding venues for art-loving couples.

Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild

Perched on the narrow strip of the Cap-Ferrat peninsula between Nice and Monaco, Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild sits above the Mediterranean with nine themed gardens — French, Spanish, Florentine, Japanese, exotic, Provençal, and more — cascading down toward the sea. The pink Belle Époque facade is one of the most recognizable on the Côte d'Azur, and the garden's central axis, designed to evoke the deck of a ship, gives every outdoor ceremony an inherently cinematic quality. Weddings here unfold against a backdrop of fountains, sculpted hedges, and panoramic water views, giving them all a magical energy.

Villa Cetinale

Six miles west of Siena, hidden at the end of a long dusty road, sits a 17th-century Roman Baroque villa that is arguably one of the most beautiful in Tuscany. The grounds of Villa Cetinale are extraordinary: an avenue of cypress trees stretches toward the Romitorio on the hill above, formal gardens spill out from the facade, and wisterias and climbing roses cover the stone walls that frame every ceremony backdrop naturally. Having hosted many unforgettable weddings, — Millie Bobby Brown and Jake Bongiovi included — it is sure to be an unforgettable Italian destination.

Amanzoe

A modern-day Acropolis on a hilltop above the Peloponnese in Greece, Amanzoe delivers 360-degree views of olive groves and the Aegean Sea. Referencing classic Greek architecture, the thirty-eight freestanding pavilions, three beach pavilions, and twelve villas mean the property can handle weddings of all scales and sizes. The Amphitheatre alone — an atmospheric outdoor dinner space with Aegean views and a cocktail menu inspired by Greek mythology — is reason enough to make the trip.

Sant Michel Abbey

After more than 1,000 years between weddings, Mont-Saint-Michel Abbey in Normandy reopened its historic doors for model Ming Xi’s extraordinary celebration, instantly placing the landmark on our radar for 2027 weddings. Perched above the sea with soaring Gothic architecture, centuries of history, and an unmistakable storybook atmosphere, it offers a setting unlike anywhere else in the world. We love its sense of wonder and fairytale romance, and are ever hopeful Ming Xi’s wedding signals the beginning of a new era for the iconic French landmark.

Rancho San Cristóbal

A ceremony overlooking the sea at sunset, followed by a reception set deep inside a canyon — what could be more magical? Rancho San Cristóbal in Los Cabos, Mexico operates on a principle of dramatic contrast, and the landscape delivers both halves with full commitment. The terrain shifts in scale and mood as the celebration unfolds, moving from open coastal panorama to the enclosed, almost theatrical atmosphere of the canyon below. Access must be booked directly through a wedding planner rather than a direct booking, which keeps the experience especially rare.

The Frick Collection

For the couple dreaming of a romantic art-museum wedding, The Frick Collection in New York City is a must. Sitting as a Gilded Age mansion on Fifth Avenue filled with Vermeers, Rembrandts, and Holbeins, the space has recently emerged in recent years that is now open for private entertaining after hours. The Garden Court, with its indoor foliage and classical fountain, seats up to 180 guests for a reception that manages to be filled with grandeur and charm, and the Music Room, with its glass ceilings and damask walls, handles the dancing end of the evening with just the right romantic energy.

Ville De Mont Mountain Resort

Nestled within a century-old Samu pine forest on the southern slope of Ham Rong mountain in Sapa, Vietnam, Ville De Mont Mountain Resort is a 39-villa resort where contemporary architecture meets dreamy mountain views. Villas are positioned at various altitudes across the mountainside — some perched directly on rock cliffs with private onsen-style soaking tubs and panoramic views over the Muong Hoa valley, one of the world's most celebrated terraced field landscapes. For couples drawn to northern Vietnam countryside and a desire to go somewhere genuinely off the editorial radar, this is the discovery.
