Eric Boman, Givenchy
It's confirmed! Sarah Burton has officially been named as the new creative director of Givenchy. The British designer, who led Alexander McQueen for over a decade following the passing of Lee Alexander McQueen, stepped down from her role last September, unveiling her final collection for the brand.
Sarah Burton becomes the eighth designer to take over the legendary French luxury house, and only the second female couturier in Givenchy history to do so since its founding in 1952. She will be responsible for the creative direction of all collections.
"It is a great honor to be joining the beautiful house of Givenchy, it is a jewel. I am so excited to be able to write the next chapter in the story of this iconic house and to bring to Givenchy my own vision, sensibility and beliefs," said Sarah Burton.
Her first collection for the brand is set to be revealed in March 2025 at Paris Fashion Week.
