To present the release of her new album The Life of a Showgirl, Taylor Swift sat down on The Graham Norton Show where the newly engaged pop star didn’t just talk music, but also dropped a few intriguing details about her upcoming wedding.
One thing’s for sure—the wedding isn’t happening too soon. “I am just doing the album thing now, which is a big thing, and then I think the wedding is what happens after that in the scheme of the planning. But I’m so excited about it,” Swift told Norton. The singer-songwriter also hinted that she won’t have a tight guest list. Having too few people, she explained, often means you “have to evaluate or assess your relationship” with someone to see if they should be there — which, unsurprisingly, can get a little stressful.
The Grammy winner also shared a peek behind the scenes of her partner Travis Kelce’s August surprise proposal, which was planned with almost athletic precision. The Super Bowl–winning tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs got down on one knee in a lush flower garden on the very same day he and Taylor recorded her episode of his New Heights podcast. “We filmed the podcast for about three or four hours,” she recalled. “Meanwhile, behind his house, he was having the whole back garden turned into this.” To capture the moment without spoiling the surprise, Swift’s tour photographer hid inside the hedges — camouflaged among bushes that, as Taylor pointed out, “had not previously been there.” And it paid off! “It’s really fun that we actually have the exact moment,” the pop star shared.
With a fairytale proposal already behind them and wedding plans slowly taking shape, we can’t wait to see how Taylor & Travis write the next chapter of their love story.
