It’s the wedding of the season and the world can’t stop talking about it. Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez have just tied the knot in Venice—and it isn’t just a ceremony, it’s a full-blown spectacle of romance, opulence, and self-reinvention set against the storied grandeur of San Giorgio Maggiore.
The bride wore a custom Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda wedding dress—an Italian lace masterpiece crafted over 900 hours, complete with 180 hand-finished silk chiffon-covered buttons and delicately appliquéd roses and hummingbirds—a nod to Sánchez’s nickname, “hummingbird,” from Bezos. Inspired by Sophia Loren’s iconic gown in the 1958 film Houseboat, the high-necked, corseted mermaid silhouette embodies Sánchez’s signature style: timeless, refined, and unapologetically her. And the fashion doesn’t stop there. Across the multi-day affair, Sánchez is set to debut a total of 27 designer outfits curated by celebrity stylist Jamie Mizrahi, including Schiaparelli couture and a crystal-encrusted Oscar de la Renta cocktail dress already donned for her pre-wedding celebrations.

The ceremony itself was intimate in spirit, yet grand in scale, set in the lush amphitheatre-style private gardens of the San Giorgio Maggiore island. Celebrity guests including Kim Kardashian, Sydney Sweeney, Kylie Jenner and Orlando Bloom arrived via gondola to performances by Matteo Bocelli and a magical gospel choir. White cane chairs lined the ceremony space, while ivory and soft blush roses cascaded down the aisle—a large portion of the estimated $1.6 million floral budget reported. The couple exchanged vows beneath a canopy of vibrant green trees, captured beautifully by wedding photographer German Larkin. Italian event producers and wedding planners Lanza & Baucina are the visionaries behind the multi-day celebration, bringing a sense of elegance, restraint, and cultural reverence to every detail. Known for orchestrating discreet, high-society events across Europe, the duo ensured every detail of the ceremony was intimate, private, and secure.

And the celebrations are far from over. On Saturday, June 28, the newlyweds will continue the festivities with a grand reception at Venice’s historic Arsenale—a 14th-century shipyard now reimagined as one of the city’s most atmospheric event spaces. Expect glamour and lavish celebrations with performances from Elton John and Lady Gaga, a dramatic floral installation of 80,000 roses, and local Italian cuisine. Throughout the wedding weekend, guests were gifted beautiful sentiments sourced from Venice, including Murano glass, Venetian slippers, and artisanal keepsakes. In place of wedding presents, the couple requested donations to local cultural charities.
